I don't know about that. Faster maybe, but w/ the 9800gtx's oc potential I'd say it probably pulls ahead a tad, or at least evens it out. Still, a near reasonable price for the card in today's market, it's price/performance is actually solid now for the first time almost 2 years after it's release. :laugh:

Hey It's XFX lifetime warranty ^___~ pretty sure they don't have any retail ultras laying around for RMA if u get my drift if u tell them u bought it for $669 they're not gonna send u a lil 9800gtx it be replaced with GTX280... or maybe that's just my wishful thinking (^___^)-b

True, but you have to register it and I assume the serial number is associated w/ a retailer and date purchased, perhaps price as well. It's all around.

well think about it...

XFX ships a 20 pallets to the distributors.

distributors resell them to retailers by the pallet.

retailers markup their margins

people buys the card.

I don't think they can match serial number to particular sales.

Only time where you have to show receipt was when they did the rebate program for the people that bought the GTX280 at some rediculous launch price.

I know for sure it is faster because of it's bus speeds ,faster ram than a normal 8800gtx and also more ram than a 9800gtx. It can be overclocked aswell. Remember regular 8800gtx perform almost exactly the same as 9800 gtx cards and at higher resolutions pull away because of the larger bus speeds and amount of ram..

An ultra is just an oc'd 8800gtx. They perform similarly to a 9800gtx overall, yes a little faster at higher resolutions. Overall, the difference is small, and they don't have near as much oc headroom as a 9800gtx. Overall, they're pretty nearly tied.
