New Headphones...Any Recommendations?

I am about to move into my girlfriends flat which means that I no longer have my little study at the back of my current home where my booming Logitech THX 2.1 speakers dont bother nobody.

Therefore, If I want to contine to enjoy top quality sound whilst gaming into the wee small hours, I am going to have to invest in a pair of quality headphones....

Not got much of a clue where to start looking....

Anyone got any recommendations?

+1 for the Piranhas and if those are to expensive for you try the Sennheiser PC151 headset, i have them and i absolutely love them, for gaming and music. The MIC works excellent too.

I used to use my brother's pair of MDR-V600 sony headphones. They were very nice and I loved using them in studio.

Cheaper elsewhere if you look. These were great. I could hear things I never noticed before.

(I sat on them by accident and they broke.)

a $20 pair of Radioshack headphones, complete with basic noise suppression, nah jk, all I can really say for recommendations would be anything from Bose

cause you haven't listened to any real headphones(i take it from you almost instantly responding to the thread to not responding when i asked, that you haven't).

and its all relative. they sound better than $10 dollar store headphones for sure, but there utter crap for that price(there WAY over priced) for the sound quality.

Ok... all you want to know is the best so im going to say them first and the rest is just a little history of my addiction with headphones so you know I have some idea what I am talking about...here I go.

Logitech Noise Canceling PC Headset 980409-0403 I have owned 3 sets of these, 2 of them have broken, Logitech let me return both when there lives were used up, I was given $80 credit each time which I put towards a new pair. These sound amazing. Period. The best headphones I have ever used.

TURTLE BEACH EARFORCE X-51 - If you want 5.1 headphones these are cool, they have all the jacks and a pretty good set, if you can keep yourself from bending the pins (I was curious and broke one off while playing with them) then they are quite durable and last well. I have had a pair for 2 or 3 years now and they work great except for on the channel I broke off...

The rest are ok...except the Sony X55's below. They are also GREAT there just not headphones so I did not pick them.

Im a bit of an audiophile, I currently have 8 headsets:

(3buds, 2 of which are high quality)
SONY MDREX51LP/WCU -Relatively Cheep ($50 when I bought them), they sound good, but they break quite easily.

SONY MDREX55/BLK EX -Sound the same as the above pair but have not failed me yet, I have had them a little under a year, you can find them online for around $40.

(3 different sets of headsets)
Steel Series 5H V2 -They are good for gaming, but they lack in both the high end and low end, I cannot use them for music or movies, just gaming. They seem to be tweaked for CSS.

Logitech 980462-0403 -Its a $20 headset, does not grip ears well, drivers are comparable to the 5h's but they do not cover the ear like the 5hs. excellent mic.

I think what he's trying to say is while most people would be happy with those headphones, they aren't "professional". (Meaning they will not sound as warm as a more expensive headphone brand.) I know its hard to think about but you can only really know when you've compared headphones. (I thought my Sennheiser HD280 pro's were great until I tried my sister's studio Sony phones. Cost her 500$+ but there was definitely a difference)

the reason i suggested Bose was because the Bose speakers in my living room rape, crystal clear, but those are bookshelf, not headphones, kinda hard to mount those on your head
