Figured I'd share with everyone on TPU the ignorance in my latest project. Would give pictures but can't find the charger to my camera.
So,,,lets paint a picture.

Lian LI PC-A20A case
Intel 975 bad axe 2
Q6600 G0
2x 3870's
2 gigs of patriot
3 raptors-the origionals
1 500 gig storage drive
PCP&C 860w psu
10 feet of alunimum pipe 1/2" OD 3/8 ID
10 feet of pvc clear tubing from lows- This is the start of my mistake:banghead:
1x danger den black ice extream radiator
koolance pump and resivor for the 5 1/4" drive pay-- I love this unit. it rocks:rockout:

So i custom bent the alunimum tubing and sleaved it with the clear pvc CRAP, and installed in the system. filled the system with Koolance water. Other mistake...:banghead: this stuff is conductive. leaked checked good so I slide the mobo tray into place and connected everything.
started the computer ran great for an hour then, O shit it leaked. Down from the cpu block onto the north bridge down to the video cards and into the case. fried my board but everything else is ok.
Now that I have to order a new board I felt that it was a good opurtunity to up date the hard drives and operating system since every thing is now lost as it was a raid 0 config.

So I just ordered the Intel x48 mobo, 4 gigs of munshkin 1600mhz mem 2x2 gigs.
2x velociraptors and vista x64 ultimate was running vista premium 32bit.
went to performance pcs and ordered the right tubing UV red 1/2' ID x 3/4" OD. Some non conductive UV red coolant and the right clamps as the metal ones I used, the worm gears pinched the line and lifted it up just enough allowing it to leak under pressure if I would have had the right pvc tubing or non conductive coolant to start off with, non of this would have happened and I could have saved my self 1400 dollars in parts. Well 900 dollars since I was eyeing the new raptors since they came out. Was wanting to get SSD's but seriously COMPLETLY over priced. 3+ dollars a GIG they can kiss my ass.
This is the 5th system I've built and the only time this has happened. Guess it had to sooner or later.
Will post pictures of completed system in the gallery when I finish it up.

which is exactly why i assembly my watercooling in a sinkj and run it for 24 hours before I install it into my rig. and non conductive fluid pays for itself. oh well that mobo was ancient and needed upgrading anyway. congrats on the x48.

Normally I do the same thing when doing a water system. Key word "normally" which is why I feel like a rookie should have defently done a more extensive leak test over night. The only reason I used the Koolance stuff, is because it's what I had on hand. Lesson learned!!!!!!! I orderd two liters of feser F1 UV red coolant "non conductive of course" and some Feser 1/2 x 3/4 PVC. Hopefully this stuff will slide over the aluminum piping I bent. It's quite the pain in the :nutkick: to do. Very time consuming... Took 5 hours to do last time.
The x48 should last long enough to get the x58 when it comes out at the end of the year which is the only reason I kept the Q6600 and didn't up grade it as well.

Which is why I'm doing it. Should have it finished up by friday as long as all the hardware I just ordered is on the up and up.

Well finished up my new build and the aluminum tubing didn't work out as planned. Ended up just using the tubing instead. This X48BT2 Over clockes a hell of alot better than the 975 bad axe 2 I smoked. I don't think smoking that board was a mistake. That what I call divine intervention. Anyways one of the raptors I ordered craped out after 2 days.
