recommend me a good PSU

I need a new PSU. In the last year i have had 4 die on me 3 Hiper 580w Type-R 1 Xclio good power 500w. When the last Hiper went it took out my Video card(7900GS voltmod), AMD Athlon x2, 1 hdd,ram(1gb Geil) Then i replaced the HDD with a newer and bigger one also replaced the ram with OCZ Reapers (D9s) the 7900GS got replaced by a 8800GT OC.When the Xclio went out it took my Gigabyte board out with it. So the point is i have had to replace every part in my computer because of PSU death I want one that won't keep killing my hardware. Upgrades to hardware WILL happen sometime so i need alittle extra power for that. Price try to keep it less then $150 (us) would like to get from newegg.

not sure of what board i am going to get yet. I won't be getting a new PSU vary fast because fixing my computer for another time is at the bottom of my list.

If there is a good PSU that is under $150 and on newegg please give me a link to it even if out of stock and a link to a review if you can.

corsair have to be one of the best makes of PSU to get atm.
They seem to be the most recommended here on TPU, hence why I got one.
You won't be disappointed! This is like an 800W compaired ot other makes.

You cant get better than a Corsair PSU.

As for reviews, try google, you'll have them coming out of your ears.
But like Jr said, they dont really need one.

Waste of money, it will be far less efficent and create more heat for nothing.
Unless you plan on using all that extra power at some point soon don't bother.

priced differently here in the uk im afraid - £65 for the modular 520W, alot more for the modular 620W. Im 16 for christs sakes haha :laugh:

Wolf Reccomended it to me on this build and it hasn't to fail me yet (although the fan DID seize, but I just stole the fan out of another and used that) Wolf has the same PSU and has been using his for over a year now, his is still going strong.

So many people underestimate the need to have a descent PSU. I liked my generic PSU until it stopped working.

Although those seem to be a decent power supply I wouldn't rely on one to save my life.

It's like I build a TON of machines with Sparkle power supplies which are made by FSP, and not a lot fail, but...

For the same price after MIR, i would get the 750W corsair any day. hell I would get the corsar even without the MIR!

Nah, i'd never touch a Coolermaster PSU, looked into em before I bought my Corsair, they are the slightly cheaper end of the top PSu's.

But for the current price of these Corsair's, with their build quality, reliability, power output, and 5 yr warranty, like whiteLotus said, it really would be silly not to get this Corsair PSU.

cooler master PSUs are good, but not as good as a corsair or pc power and cooling. This coming from a owner of a 750 watt cooler master real power pro.

I read a few reviews on that PSU and it looks like it is a solid PSU that is the one i want to get. Thanks for all that have recommended a PSU...

You can keep them coming too so i can have alot to pick from.

I would suggest two 750W PSU's:

PC Power & Cooling:
+5V @ 30A
+12V @ 60A (Single Rail)
-12V @ 0.8A
+3.3V @ 24A
+5VSB @ 3A

Corsair:
+3.3V@30A
+5V@28A
+12V@60A (Single Rail)
-12V@0.8A
+5VSB@3.0A

I like both as they are very reliable names and both have single rails. The amps are minor differences but they are almost identical units.
The only deciding factor would be the PC P&C is offered in stylish red, blue, and black.
