Undervolted Overclocked Q9450 common ?

Q9450 undervolted to 1.18 V in bios , 1.152V under load and overclocked to 3.2 Ghz .

Are these common in 45nm processors ?

I'd figure it's pretty normal as even Kentsfield does 3.2GHz at stock volts and one would think Yorkfield wouldn't atleast be any worse. But why are you using Prime95 with 1 thread and Orthos with 2? Only 3 cores are loaded. One instance of Prime95 can run 4 threads.

I'm lucky with my lil'ol E7200 also. I'm doing 3.0ghz on 1.1125 V in my bios. Drops to 1.04V under load on OCCT and Orthos

Yeah, these 45nm don't require near the power that the 65nm chips do. I have seen several cases of this.

One instance of Prime95 can run 4 threads.

Might be using an older version of Prime, try that one should test all 4 cores when you start it.

i downloaded the latest one from that mersene prime numbers site

I have a Q9450 that i overclocked to 3.4GHZ and it's running at 1.09v and it stable. It's wak but i love the temps, in the low 30's, plus if my work system so 3.4 if fine for me and i love the 12M cache.
