Sapphire 4850 for sure!

4850 blows away the 9800gt...

If you were to get a 9800gt though, I would get the MSI if you have good ventilation, if not get the EVGA.

And oh I am always fan out exhaust type dual-slot coolers to keep other things cool inside. My case is going to be Ultra Maximus which is decent for good air flow.

I am going to run the card with an Atlon X2 5600 Windsor @3.3. Will that be a problem? Or should I just go with 3870?

No problem at all. Any bottlenecking will be minimal at best. Have fun toying around!

I would go with the gigabyte 4850. Pretty good deal with free shipping and MIR.

The highest stable OC I can get is 3.1 ghz. I can get it up 3.2 ghz but it won't make a full 3dmark run.

I prefer to keep it at 3.0 ghz though so I can keep it at stock volts.

You serious about lifetime warranty from sapphire? I didn't see on their website or on egg. Can you please post the link.

How about customer response when you try to call for RMA not like Asus right you will be on hold for 3 days no one will answer?

what mobo u going with

The story is my wife's AGP machine (on my system specs) broke and I have to build her a complete new one.

I am going to use my spare Abit AN52 board + my test machines X2 5600 and newly bought Kingston 4GB ram for $50 AR. Might buy a new WD 400 G SATA too as she is running out of space on her 200G. I am trying to keep the total cost under $300.

WD - $68 including tax at MC
Kingston $50 AR and taxes
VC - $165 AR and taxes

total $283 close.

Have Ultra 600W X pro fresh from RMA.

Is the EVGA 9800GT not good? Its a dual slot cooler and I can save about $50? I am seeing only a 10% performance difference between this and 4850 (4850 is greater on most).
