Software to increase CPU load on sliding scale

I am trying to crash my pc by overloading it, i know i could increase load by adding work or programs but i was wondering if there was a way of increasing load like a volume control.

Google couldnt help so i am doubting whether this is even computationally possible.

Well I have already used OCCT + Prime95 + intel burn test and nothing happens, maybe Furmark will help to make it crash

hence why i added FurMark ... if there is a soft to make things go worse: then it has to be FurMark ... the one and only "f.u.b.a.r." approved software...

Caps, putting an ever increasing load on the CPU is unlikely to crash the PC. Instead Windows will just grind on slower and slower.

Prime95 is indeed a good one to try. I think you should be able to set it to more threads than your CPU has which should cause some pain.

If you want an easy and quick way to overload your pc and make it crash do this:
While crunching at 100% cpu load add any of those programs mentioned above by @GreiverBlade :slap:

Note: personal experience.

Just ran WCG at 100% and played Project Cars which usually utilizes 6 cores at 25%

So thats 125% load ....

this isnt scientific enough for me.......suggestions please, i only have this chip for one more day.

Once you hit 100% you're at 100%, you can open as many stress testing programs you want, but it won't put any more stress on the CPU. Add more programs will just slow the others down, and might actually put less stress on the CPU since it will likely sit idle for a few cycles each time it switches processing between program.

ahahahahaahahahaahahahahahahahaha.....thats what i call a crash, nice one toothy, i really enjoyed that, it took about 90secs.

i will run it with the new chip tmrw :toast:

that was like a car crash in slow motion, it felt like i was trying all the doors and i still couldnt get out.

I've never heard or seen of such a program, but I think you came up with a good idea CAPS. I can see some good uses out of a stability program where you can just ramp things up... Like seeing when power states kick in and uh stuff.

i was surprised when i googled it that there was nothing like it, im not a programmer but i cant imagine it would be too hard to put a prog together.

Something with a volume control that goes up to 11 please.

I sent him a .bat file that opens an infinite amount of cmd windows until everything crashes. I would distribute it but I'm sure it could get messy with dumb people out there on the internet, so it's a personal thing that I send personally.
