    Don't understand T°C with radeon 9800 pro

Are you sure about that? Everywhere I read something about the R360, it is said, that the temperature diode is built into the chip. So when I have got an R360 on a Radeon 9800 Pro card, the LM63 should measure it's own temperature and the temperature gained from this thermal diode on the R360...

ATI Catalyst Control Center 3d Preview

I've got several problems with the CCC and ATITool. I installed the CCC over Catalyst 4.8. When I tried to change AA and AF settings with ATITool the settings were not applied in applications. The CCC itself crashed several times and caused 3D applications to run very jerky (with short breaks...

    ATi RADEON 9800pro 128Mb @ wrong clockspeed!?

Are you sure it's a Pro? These are the default clocks for a Radeon 9800 SE. Make some tests to correctly identify the card (e.g. with Lavalys Everest) A table with the differences between the 9800 variants: http://www.rojakpot.com/default.aspx?location=3&var1=101&var2=0

    OC Temp

It's a Sapphire Atlantis 9800 Pro with 256 MB DDR1-RAM and 256 Bit memory bus. I changed the cooling solution to a Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer v3. The maximum temperature I get on the tempchip is 66 °C in Doom 3. (46.6 fps in the timedemo demo1 at 1024x768 High at 412/365 on a Pentium 4 3.2 GHz)

    OC Temp

What Catalyst are you using? I've had similiar issues when I overclocked my Radeon 9800 Pro to 411.75/364.50. I didn't experience any dots when I lowered the core frequency to 402 MHz. (This was under Cat. 4.6) With Catalyst 4.8 the spots are gone completely and I can go up to the XT...

    Temperatures to expect?

I've got a Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro with a R360 chip and LM63 temperature sensor with a Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer v3. The temperatures I get are: Remote: 77.0°C Local: 57.0°C (WinXP desktop, no load; environment 28°C, case 39°C, CPU 44°C) In descriptions of the Overdrive feature the...
