Nice, but will the pci-e molex 6pin + 6pin differ than the 6pin + 8 pin?
dual 6 pins on the 6950 are enough to use same 6970 specification for long time without issue?
I'm trying to mod a 5870 bios to always stick with 900/1200 instead of 850/1200 so I can keep the 2d clocks 157/300 without messing with the overdrive but I found this bios is different than other bioses, as the higher clock is only set on "Boot", while other bioses always have the Boot set on...

if you want to have higher voltage than stock 1.088v, flash your card with 5870 vapor-x bios, it will give you 1.165v, tested and working fine.

idle clocks will show 157/300 if you don't enable CCC overdrive, once you enable overdrive and do little OC, memory clock will go up to the same clock as 3d and gpu clock to 400MHz.. I think the 1000+ memory clock is the most that makes the card hotter at idle more than the 400MHz gpu clock.
Hello, when I try to OC my 5850 even 1MHz more, the idle clocks change itself to 400/1125 instead of 157/300.... is there any way to force the idle clock to 157/300 when the card is OC'ed?
At default settings idle clocks are fine.
With 157/300 my idle temp is 40c, with 400/1125 temp is 48c.

Who have stutters with this game,
Here is the fix:
Open Task Manager, right click on "Blur.exe" and set priority to "Real Time" and it should play now without single stutter... I think it is game bug.
Let me know how it goes
@Fitseries3
How is the performance of the Thermaltake Frio compared to Thermalright Ultra Extreme 120?
I'm currently @ 4.2GHz and max temp is 85c in Linx. Does it worth changing my True with Frio?
My True isn't lapped.
TIA
Hello, I noticed GPU-Z reports my current PCI-E speed is 16x v1.1 at idle mode and it goes to 16x v2.0 at load, is that normal? I remember I didn't have such thing with my old 4870
HD4890, Catalyst 10.1, Win7 x64
You can flash the UD4P with Extreme bios, I didn't try myself but someone on XS successfully flashed his UD4P to Extreme but you have to use special flash tool.
If you are using F8 bios so that's why you have problem, I have to use the later bios's to let my memory work @ 1600 with low...
buggy game will cause same problem too, google this problem you will see it is a common problem with crysis for nvidia/ati users, I would try other games and make sure they run fine
I had same problem with my 4890 only in this game with DX10 in the last level, I noticed crysis was using 4.5GB memory and my pagefile was full, tried to underclock the card and it didn't solve the problem, I think it is a game bug
