Yes. When I first put on the electricity the number 4 lights up. Then when I turn the power off then on again 3 lights up! I'm at a loss :confused:

Done some research and it looks like the fan that is making all the fuss is the "PCI card shroud and fan" (http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/xps600/en/sm/techov0.htm) What would you recommend the next course of action to be, for getting it fixed?

So I take it that the bottom right black unit in picture 1 is my PSU (photo 2 is the close up of this). When I turn it on this fan goes crazy and pushes the air outwards. You think I will need to replace the PSU?

Hi all, Well I've had my Dell XPS 600 for quite a while now (2006!) and it's been very good to me so far. Only problem I had/have to some extent was the power supply which was replaced. I'm not going to abandon my baby and shell out £2000 for a new PC. I would like your expert advice in...

MKmods Thanks for this, didn't know about the 6 pin and 8 pin versions. Looks like the BFG is the 6 pin (hopefully it is and my Dell insides has the connection and space for it). I will use that install guide when I get the card. I do have a 40" Samsung (Wii, PS2...yes PS2 :eek: Love...
