Have you tried playing around with the desktop resolution and refresh rate? Windows usually just detects the correct resolution after the graphics drivers are installed (sometimes even before that), but sometimes it buggers up and selects a resolution that's slightly off - maybe it's set too...

Meh, I don't know if x86 based chips will get past 3.8GHz in 10 years - they hit that ceiling a long time ago (2003?) and haven't budged at all... POWER chips have passed 5GHz last I saw - maybe Apple was foolish to ditch that platform. The real question is will PCs even be relevant in 10 years...

PowerLine is susceptible to interference though when appliances power on and off... PCI/PCIe wireless card is your best bet (IMO) if you cannot be connected via Ethernet.

Is there any way you can try installing the card into another computer? And McAfee?! That sounds more like a virtual device, and I've had issues with those more often than real hardware. EDIT: It's a firewall component from McAfee...

Isn't kinda scary knowing that at any time Apple, Microsoft, ect can just disable operating systems, software and devices on a whim? I mean, since we don't own the software outright (and the software ON the devices), but are licencing it... Now, they would never do that, but still, just knowing...
