Why not buy a phenom II X6 though? you already have the mobo ram ect.? it'll net you the same performance if not better in some instances for a huge amount less which you can spend on a better gpu or even a crossfire setup! :) or you could always wait for next year, it's not like a quad is...

looks to be around 10-20% slower than a 9800GT, but uses a lot less power too. If you haven't already placed the order, i would recommend at least stretching to a hd5750 or even better a hd5770, since the performance boost is most tangible for the cost and a hd5750 does beat a 9800GT :) this...

indeed, although my cousin has a dual core with a hd4670 on his no brand generic 350w psu. However it is much newer than your p4 era psu, so i agree that is the most probable cause. Download something like 3dmark06 and run it, if it crashes then it's not just the sims that is the problem :)

I currently have a wireless n network with a 50mb connection. At the moment i can download at around the 3-4.5MB marker over wifi. If someone else is using the wifi at the same time will that lower that download rate even though there is more isp (and router, technically) bandwidth to spare...

turns out it is a dual 465 as opposed to a dual 470, so it isn't beating the hd5970. However it may fill a nice price point which could lead to come competition finally.
