Umm i said the board, cpu and ram come as a bundle, this saves me 70 dollars. Then if i add the cost for z97 board gaming 3 equivalent it comes to 120 extra dollars or 100 with the board you choose :/

Im not sure but i dont think overclocking capability is worth the extra $120 it will be, especially with a Xeon chip. If i was getting a K cpu I would.

I was just getting a psu that I could use for ages (comes with 10yr warranty) with plenty of room to upgrade in the future. If you reckon it's too much what other good psus do you reckon around 600-650w? Would like modularity with it
The ram situation I will just see how 8gb goes first and see...
The cad work isn't too intensive so I'm thinking 8gb should be fine
The monitor I was just planning to look for after I had everything sorted, thinking about 30 inch monitor or tv that I could use

First time building a pc and would like to know what people reckon about this build. Will be mainly used for cad software and gaming.
These are the parts I have chosen so far
CPU: Intel Xeon e3 1231 v3
Motherboard: Msi H97 gaming 3
RAM: 2x4gb Kingston HyperX Fury 1866 DDR3...
