    Ugh, Motherboard Died. Upgrade?

Btw, ended up costing my under $300 from Microcenter for cpu, motherboard, and new cooler. So slightly above budget but with some stuff that should last me longer. Might part out the old cpu too to make back some.

    Ugh, Motherboard Died. Upgrade?

No idea what's wrong with it. On the LED it's flashing F3 F6 b8. That's the code for memory error, but memory is fine. Seems to be a common problem from my research online. I got the new board working. I was being an idiot with my network card, figured it out piecing it together one by one out...

    Ugh, Motherboard Died. Upgrade?

Thanks all. Decided to go the i5 route since its not that muh more than just a mobo. Went to microcenter today and picked up a i5 and mobo. Put it all together and no boot. Ugh. Now Im not sure if its a doa mobo or something else in my system. But I already tried a new psu with the old board. I...

    Ugh, Motherboard Died. Upgrade?

Motherboard died on my old system, see system specs. Looks like it's basically impossible to find LGA 1366 boards anymore. I don't really game much anymore, mostly use for a home theater PC. What are my options on the current gen stuff? I'd like to get it up and running for about $200 or less...

    Having Weird Problem

So, I am back to bump this problem. **UPDATE** This problem randomly disappeared roughly a couple days of doing all the things in this thread. One day when I turned on the computer, it just simply did not have this problem anymore and continued on fine for months. The last thing I had done...

    Having Weird Problem

Thanks. I'll try this stuff after a few meetings I have this afternoon and report back. Gives me a number of options, hopefully it will be one of them.

    Having Weird Problem

Just tried stock clocks, didn't work. So the overclocking has nothing to do with it, unless it's from wear and tear over time.

    Having Weird Problem

The clocks were reset to stock after the OS wipe, and I didn't notice any issues while the install happened and after the restarts. I'm going to go back and try again to see if that could really be the problem. I've been running this Q6600 overclocked for about 2.5 years now and I leave the...

    Having Weird Problem

Well, the fresh wipe didn't help. Any suggestions on how to test hardware or ideas of where to start? It's annoying that it takes 5 to 10 minutes to start the computer everyday, and sometimes it freezes and have to start over. So need this fixed asap.

    Having Weird Problem

Just seems if it was Video card, it's weird that it gets up to the windows loading screen fine. Of course I guess that is sort of the case with the other hardware options as well. I think I'll take your advice on loading on a different hard drive, I hadn't thought of that. Thanks.

    Having Weird Problem

All my specs are in my drop down thingy. I've been having the problem for about 4 months, but have been going around it. It's been getting worse though, so now that I have 3 days to work on it, I need to figure it out. Basically, the problem is I'm getting a black screen on boot up. But...

    RAID performance

I can't really read it but it looks like 180mb/s, what is the access speed? Here is my AALS RAID 0 setup, this is just a 60gb matrix partition: and the RAID 0 setup for the rest of the space:

    Becoming a "professional" system builder?

This is interesting stuff. I've always considered doing this as a kind of side thing when work/school is light, and may pick it back up again. Doing 1 or 2 decent builds a month gives adequate money to spend on your own computer and hobbies, however doesn't get you too involved or overwhelmed.
