Apple Announces new iPhone Model - the iPhone 3G

I'm just curious, what is "Assisted-GPS"? Is it somehow less functional than regular GPS. My Samsung M610 from Sprint has GPS and it works great with Mobile Gmaps and Mobile Google.

Overclocking an Asus P-5B Deluxe Mobo

I have an Asus P-5B Deluxe motherboard with an Intel E6600 Core 2 Duo CPU. Right now I just have everything set to auto and it runs fine. But I want to overclock it a little bit. When I go in to the Bios under RAM speed I have it set on DDR2-800 because I have DDR2-800 RAM. If I turn up the...

RIAA Says Lawsuits Ain't The Answer

How does the RIAA know how many households are pirating music? I'd like to see their method of finding that out. Just because a person is on Limewire or Kazaa doesnt mean they are pirates, there's lots of uncopyrighted material being shared on there too. The RIAA needs to look at itself when...

ASUS Launches ROG Blitz Extreme Motherboard

They said this board is for extreme gaming enthusiasts. Nobody in that class of customer would be using an AMD cpu, just intel core 2 duos.

    PCIe x16 vs. x8, x4, x1

I guess that depends on your mobo. I have the P5B deluxe and it doesnt allow for that. But i know that some mobo's that use the 965 chip and do crossfire thats how they do it.

    8800 GTS Question

I just bought an 8800GTS an its great. But I was wondering if there is a way to mod the bios or something to unlock the other 32 stream processors since it has 96 and the GTX has 128. They use the same physical GPU dont they, the G80?

    PCIe x16 vs. x8, x4, x1

Yes, thats correct. The P965 chip only supports 20 PCIe lanes. 16 lanes for the blue (on asus mobo) slot and 4 for the black slot. If you have a card in the X1 PCIe slot then the black slot, while its physically an x16 size it will revert to x2 lanes.

HD-DVD may not have won the battle after all

I read somewhere that Sony's Blu-ray standard wont allow XXX content on Blu-ray discs, so by default XXX content has to be on HD-DVD.

Consoles Not Powerful Enough for Crysis?

I find the claim that the next-gen consoles just arent powerful enough to be garbage. The XBOX 360 has 3 IBM Power PC cores running at 3.2 GHz each and each supports two hardware threads. The graphics consists of a 500 MHz ATI chip and 512 MB of 700 MHz GDDR3. Thats a pretty powerful setup...

I couldn't agree more with what you just said.

    Halo 3 Announced

Looks awesome. I played first halo on xbox, never got around to playing the second one. But now that I have a 360 I'll definitely be getting this game. I was under the impression that Bill Gates said that Halo 3 would release the same time as the PS3.

Asus PhysX cards to ship with Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter

i think it would be cool if a game was multi-threaded and utilized the second core of a dual-core CPU to do physics, or if graphics cards vendors started adding the physics chip right on the graphics card, that'd be sweet too.

    Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter Demo

I played ghost recon 1 & 2 on xbox and loved them both, I hope this one is just as good. I would just buy the Xbox360 version but I cant find an xbox360 at any store near where i live.

    OC'd Conroe does 1M SuperPi in 16s

That seems odd to me. Intel spec's said the E6400 was a dual core chip sharing a 2MB L2 cache. That link shows the guy's CPU-Z which shows 4096KB L2 cache. Somethings outta whack. Could be a doctored CPU-Z screenshot.
