from the pics i've seen it looks crazy ( in a good way )
buuuut i would prefer a fan grill to stop parts falling in it, obviously that would impede the airflow
just my 2 cents :D
bwahaha i was thinking of the other cooler :laugh:
lol
ofcause i know what i want to use it for :p and no i'm not rolling in money
(please read the first post ;) ) it says i have no intentions of getting windows 10 at the mo, as win 8.1 is my main go to operating system
so technically i wouldn't be able to use the rtx 2080 ti or any of the 20...
tbh i would have gone with an rtx 2080ti but they don't have support for win 8.1 just win 7 64, and as you already know support for win 7 64 ended in january
yes i could get win 10, but i don't plan on it just yet
ok ladies and gents i have been planinng on getting a new graphics card for some time (i currently have a gigabyte HD5870 1 gb :roll::laugh:) :shadedshu::cry: but it's started artifacting when i switch on, and still use win 7 64 and win 8.1 64
(i have no plans of getting win 10 yet)...
still strange how your fan wasn't cranking up :wtf:
i'm also curious as to what programs you had running in the background (for future reference :pimp: )
yes it's best to take it to them if it is under any warranty, and yep it looks quite fiddly
you could still use the vacuum on it ;) although to be honest it might not help, but you could try :)
look on youtube as their might be someone who has serviced a latop the same or similar ,but don't undo it if your machine has any type of warranty as opening it will void it ,
as i sort of said in the other post, if you use a vacuum on the air vents you should be ok (as-long as you don't hoover...
at a guess you probably have some dust inside, get the vacuum out and hoover it (at least the airvents)(i was going to post a pic of a laptop that was freezing/crashing/restarting that i cleaned out but i can't find it)
hm seems i didn't answer your thoughts on paste
well i wouldn't use anything with bits in like diamond unless it was for a cpu with a cover on the top
but your paste should be ok
it's easy to damage things with static and although the result may not seem much it's always best to be safe than...
don't forget to get yourself an anti-static strap (assuming you don't have one already )
and a tip i learnt, was to let the card or what ever you are dismantling that has old paste on warm up, to me it seems easier to remove heat sinks when they aren't cold
(waits for others to say that's...
hm, i got in contact with gigabyte and they said get in contact with scan along with a list of things to try, and i start a rma :shadedshu:
then after leaving the pc disconnected a day and taking the cmos battery out for 10 mins, i thought maybe the pump had failed so i unplugged it from the 12...
i'm using a gigabyte right now :p (admittedly it was rma'd along with my psu within the first 11months of purchase)
my ideology was if it was built for oc'ing it should make for a solid board that should last
don't get me wrong i love it and would, if i had to, get another, but as everyone...
ok so yesterday morning i woke up at 1.30 am and switched the pc on and it worked perfectly,
and i switched it off at the wall after shutting it down, then i get up at 7 am, switch the plug on and nothing, no lights on the motherboard zilch
so i check the power lead, and it's ok
(so i start...
