try overclocking with the find max.. i have an x700, and my core does 490 mhz stock cooling, yet it actually performs worser at 490, so i got core to 480 and memory all the way up to 550 max, backed it down to 540 x 2 = 1.08 ghz.. works fine. got 1,500 points more in 3dmark03 from it

u got ur core too high mate i would say. lower ur core to 480, manual set to 480 then scan for artifacts again, goodluck

i have an x700, the scores you are getting are fine. I overclocked mine, getting just under 9,000 points in 03. 22,000 in 01. sad score in 05.. 3,800 . but it performs well for a 1/3rd the price of an x800xt

ive got an x700 overclocks nice. i got my powercolor x700pro 256meg from 425 core/430 memory to 480 core and 540 memory. a little below the max but perfectly artifact free. :)

in the settings, you got to tell it to load up the profile with the overclocked speeds in it, then every reboot itll load the profile with your overclock..
