As far as lapping it depends on the bottom of the sink. For this copper version, I wonder if it is going to be exactly like the current version or if it will be a core contact. Bottom line for me is to wait for results and see if they justify the price over my current TRUE setup.
That isn't quite true. I did the washer mod and my temps went down another 5C which is a significant drop when you are pushing your oc's to the limits.
I have the fan on my 4870 X2 set to 75% in my profile and based on the temp, and the rpm of the fan reported in Everest and Rivatuner it is correct. When I open GPU-Z and go to the sensors tab it says the fan is running at 40%. This is version 0.2.7
I have a 4870 X2 on my DFI DK P35 mobo while I wiat for my X38 replacement to come in. According to gpu-z my card is running at PCI-E 2. x16. Is this reading coming from the crossfire chip on the video card rather than the motherboard? I am pretty sure the P35 isn't pci-e 2.0.
Can anyone who has successfully updated their visiontek 3870 X BBA card with the bios fixes for the fan and powerplay issues extract the master and slave bios and upload it somewhere. The files that were posted were executables and not the rom files. I was told by an administrator on the amd...
I followed these 2 steps and it worked. I told it to detect without rebooting. This is for the 3870 x2 so I am not sure how it will work on the 3870. Also have you tried the new Riva 2.08 that has just been released? You may not need to do this.
1. Download & Install RivaTuner.
2. RivaTuner...
Okay I don't know that is going on here but this is the scoop. If I use Riva and oc the card in riva, it sets the oc from gpu2. If use amdgpuclock tool it sets the oc from gpu1. I cannot get both gpu's to oc from amdgputool. Any ideas how to help me out with this one? Also I have to do each time...
I am new to using this amdgpuclocktool. I followed the instructions and it worked. My question now is do I have to do this everytime I start windows or is there a way to automate it? Also do you need to disable any ATI services?
UPDATE: I thought everything was working because when I bumped...
Turning off the UAC was the first thing I did after installing vista. I am telling it to run as administrator also but no help there. I removed the video driver and atitool. After a reinstallation, I get the kernel mode driver error. When I check the device manager, it says the driver is working...
I am having a similar issue. I got the error message about the kernel driver once. I removed atitool, rebooted, and reinstalled it. Now when I launch it I get no error message but it show 0,0 for the speeds. I am using Vista 32bit.
