yet another x850pro unlocking question: if i unlock the pipelines on this card, will the temperatures go up? right now under load with a vf700al-cu, my gpu reaches 55C, which seems high. if i unlock the extra 4 pipelines, will the temperatures go up even more?

not for the x800gt that you have. the unlocking mod only works for the x800gto2 and connect 3d x800gto. maybe someone can refute this with a real world example of unlocking an x800gt but i havent read anything about it.

hi guys, i just RMAed a DOA x800pro vivo (refurb from newegg :ohwell: ) and now i'm looking for something in that price range (max = $220ish). i was deciding either between a 6800 and a x800gto (not the gto2, as there isnt an AGP version)...

im pretty sad...the refurb card i received from newegg was DOA and now i have to pay a $30 restocking fee, AND shipping. argh..anyone see any good deals on x800pro vivo AGP version? :shadedshu

yep, reading the previous pages in this thread, other people have used the ati bios to flash cards from other makers. the other makers just put a new sticker on the heatsink...the core remains unchanged. my x800pro vivo is coming in the mail today!

yeah, i would have bought the card from ati but i need the agp version. sigh..using agp, i cant help but feel shafted. there are no longer bleeding edge cards made for agp. nor is there an x800gto2 in the agp version :mad: this is my last upgrade for my s478 system. it has been through some...

i picked up a refurbished sapphire x800pro vivo for $214 2 days ago at newegg. its no longer listed but if you wait a few days, its bound to show up. i wonder if buying refurb from newegg is risky... anyway, i cant wait till the card comes. i'll post my unlocking experiences :)

does anyone know if other GTO cards will work? im particularly interested in this card here because its the only GTO for AGP there seems to be.
