Does your computer beep during post? what are the deeps like? If the computer doesn't even beep during start up it could be a number of other things.Let us know what it does. do the power and hard drive...
Have you tried plugging the monitor into the motherboard and seeing if it works.
As you've seen with my problem it was a matter that the card didn't fit into the PCI-E slot because a plastic piece was preventing it from going down all the way. Try removing the graphic card and putting back in...
I had an updated version of Kerspersky on my computer when this all when down. But i have a feeling the new Windows updates messed with it and something happened.
I will be sure to install a leaste one spyware and one anti-virus program on my moms computer before i do this.

Long Story Short:
1. Computer Started to restart and shutdown by itself. (once a week 2 weeks ago or so, i didnt think much of it at first)
2. Browsers started crashing and giving weird errors (FireFox and EI7)
3. Windows started giving me weird errors.
4. One shutdown error gives me a...
Sorry i forgot to post an update.
I got in my new graphics in and it fit in fine. everything works now. I believe the problem was in the manufacturing of the card itself. there was a little piece of plastic awkwardly sticking out preventing me from locking the card in its PCI-E slot. When i...
Yeah Iv tried to take it out of the enclosure and hooking it directly to an IDE channel and i get the same exact thing on it unfortunately.
I believe all the important stuff i put on that enclosure drive was just backup from the original files I'm still able to access from my old drives, its...
I hate to say it, but i still haven't found a solution.
Someone on another forums recommended this http://www.grc.com/spinrite.htm
Nut its too expensive for me to give it a try. :\
I recently bought a LiteOn DVD+/-RW Drive and it really is noisy as hell. I kinda wish i went with the Samsung one. I'm going to install a newer version of Nero and maybe I can get it to work 50% of the time. Could just be my old version of Nero and not the burner i suppose.

Iv have two...
Ok, I hooked up the HDD in question to an IDE channel and i get the same exact thing.
- XP recognizes it was unallocated space and assigns no drive letter.
I don't know anything about Master Boot Records. If someone could recommend a program that would let me reinitialize my Master Boot Record...
I'm thinking im going to try that next before i try a software recommendation. But i would still like some. I'll see what happens tomorrow.
Good thing i didn't erase the information off my old drive because i still have all that information, the drive is just making a weird sound.
Ok this makes no sense to me.
I tried my plan and it didn't work. Im basically using my same exact old computer setup i didn't before i moved hard drives. My old hard drive is running off the same OS install i did before but it still wont recognize my external HDD and give it a drive letter...
If i run Window XPs FixMBR then there is a chance i might loose data. I dont want to take that risk. Instead I need to come up with a way to move all the backup information to my second internal hard drive after i plug in my old hard drive that was dying on me. he windows on that machine seems...
I believe i formatted it NTFS and there was no encryption. I also have the drive set to basic mode.
Its also hooked directly to my USB port and not through a hub. It says the Partition is "Master Boot File"
So this is a problem with the HDD MBR and not windows XP? Because it does the same thing...
When i go into The Disk Management labels it as "Disk 1" and and says the whole space is Unallocated. When i right click on it my only options are to "Partition" or "Properties" I unfortunately do not get a "Change drive letter and paths" option.
My main hard drive shows up just fine on it...
