NVIDIA Points Intel Raptor Lake CPU Users to Get Help from Intel Amid System Instability Issues

This is my new strategy. In games I'm averaging ~50 W on the 13600KF and ~130 W on the undervolted 4070. And I play at a capped 4K60 (usually with upscaling), so utilization is almost never maxed out. And I don't buy games at launch anymore. They run much better after a few months worth of...

NVIDIA Points Intel Raptor Lake CPU Users to Get Help from Intel Amid System Instability Issues

No issues with my 13600KF since I upgraded 10 months ago, but I have E-cores disabled and I have a 125 W power limit (which can only be reached with Prime95, games never even get close to 100 W). I've seen streamers have problems with the 14900K, especially in UE5 games. But those CPUs are...

    AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

Are you doing a lot of productivity, since you're considering a 16-core chip?

    Intel Core i7-14700K

Are you really struggling with temps in gaming? You probably get like 10% CPU utilization with E-cores enabled. A 14900K offers 10% more gaming performance over a 14600K while consuming double the power. Is there a scenario where the 10% is actually relevant? I genuinely don't understand why...

Play Before You Pay: Steam Allows 90-Minute Gameplay Before Purchasing a Game

I expect that person meant they lend you an account with the game you want (against TOS, but that's another matter). Other languages can use the same word for borrow and lend.

    Intel Core i7-14700K

Undervolting CPUs is not as effective as GPUs, the gains are rather small (unless we're talking 100% load on these high-core-count CPUs, but at this point it's better to power limit). And the problem is, it's hard to determine what the stock voltage is, because every motherboard's VRM performs...

    Horizon Forbidden West Performance Benchmark

Isn't your screen 144 Hz? How do you get less tearing going over that? There shouldn't be any tearing below 144 FPS, but there has to be over 144, unless you're using Fast Sync (which would introduce judder). You're saying things opposite to how they should be, which could indicate some other...

    Horizon Forbidden West Performance Benchmark

With higher power consumption, tearing and probably higher input latency? If achieving 99% GPU usage is your main priority, then you're doing it very wrong.

ASUS Announces Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD Graphics Card

Doesn't look safe to use with a graphics card, even if the mobo is horizontal.

    Horizon Forbidden West Performance Benchmark

I can't believe it's been 2 years since I played this. Feels like yesterday. :( Definitely my favorite IP from Sony, it hits my taste exactly. And even though I like the story in the first game more (you're discovering the world for the first time), the gameplay, map and quest design are...

    Lexar NM790 2 TB

Interesting. My Corsair drive always idles ~15 degrees higher than my PNY drive, and the Lexar is even warmer. But I checked the second sensor and it shows 12 degrees less than the first. The Lexar is the only drive under a radiator. By the way, HOLY AIDA DARK MODE!!!

NVIDIA to Implement GDDR7 Memory on Top-3 "Blackwell" GPUs

The initial line-up of the 50 series is not looking great at the moment. Same node, slow low-capacity GDDR7 modules which are supposed to be coupled with narrow buses. I honestly don't even know what to expect anymore. A slightly more efficient 5070 with 12 GB? It seems surreal.

Dragon's Dogma 2 Devs Investigating PC Performance & Stability Issues

Was to be expected. No 60 FPS mode on consoles usually means CPU bottlenecks. Zen 4 and Raptor Lake are doing relatively well, as these chips can offer over twice the gaming performance of what's in current gen consoles. But people on Zen 2 or Coffee Lake are definitely struggling.

Sony PlayStation 5 Pro Details Emerge: Faster CPU, More System Bandwidth, and Better Audio

Nice console, but what games am I meant to play on it? No announced first-party titles other than Marvel. By the time Horizon 3 or a new Naughty Dog game comes out, I might as well wait for the PS6.

First GPUs Implementing GDDR7 Memory Could Stick with 16 Gbit Chips, 24 Gbit Possible

But it hasn't mitigated the need for VRAM capacity, and that's what actually caused the biggest issue with the 40 series. There's just no way the 5070 will have 12 GB, because if it does, it's actually DOA. I upgrade every generation, so 12 GB didn't bother me last time. But in 2025? GTFO.
