Hate to admit it, but Mac OS is down right the best combination of good looking/reliable/easy/compatible out there. When coupled with the right hardware, it just is amazing. The only thing not possible on a mac is gaming.

P3D and FSX both are single threaded for most part and are highly CPU intensive sims. They wouldn't even use 20% of the GPU unless you have the AA cranked up. Reduce the draw distance, shadows and traffic. Traffic is a killed. Also you might need to customize the fsx.cfg file before you start...

P3D and FSX are both CPU limited. A faster GPU won't make it run any better. If you are new to flight sims, I'd recommend you start with xPlane 11. Much better graphics, smoother performance, and 64 bit. FSX and P3D is only for people who have already invested into them and bought plugins worth...

I'd check 2 things first. Remove the case connector from the motherboard and boot by shorting the power pins. Check if it boots Remove the motherboard out of the case. There might be a short if you are not using spacers
