Anyone else deep into Flight Sims?

I cannot wait to try it! My son is bringing his over this weekend to let me try it out and I am going to dive into the F-16 with it! The headtracker was a big game changer, but I imagine it doesn't hold a candle to VR! I played a couple of Unreal games at his house using a mod that can turn...

Anyone else deep into Flight Sims?

Straight to VKB in my opinion. The problem is the gimbal in the Thrustmasters. It is just a cup and ball, which is VERY prone to sticktion after some use and generally will need to be re-greased. The VKB NXT Evo with SCG Grip is very price competitive, and uses a much better gimbal/sensors...

Anyone else deep into Flight Sims?

I got my son a Quest 3 for Christmas and am waiting to borrow it in the next couple of weeks to try it out in DCS. I use the Tobii Eye Tracker and have really enjoyed it (once I got it dialed in). I love that ICP though. I've really been tempted by the full Winwing VIPER MIP Setup, but they...

    What's your latest tech purchase?

I think I have this same one and I love it! Great size, nice feel to the dial, push to mute, and it has a lengthy cord to put it in about any location. JAT

Turtle Beach Announces VelocityOne Flightdeck for Simulators

I am impressed with this one. I use the Velocity One Yoke System and have really enjoyed it for general aviation. Wish they would have been a little quicker to market with these, as I opted to go with a full VKB setup for combat aviation and do not see myself switching anytime soon. I will...

Anyone else deep into Flight Sims?

Yep! I freak out when failures happen in the sim, leading to screw ups that occasionally end in death. Punching out of an F-16 after getting nailed by a SAM is pretty cool though. My favorite was getting hit by AAA and looking out the cockpit to see my wing on fire. :rockout:Good times man!

Anyone else deep into Flight Sims?

If the zombie apocalypse comes and I manage to get my hands on anything short of an airliner, I could probably get it up in the air, navigate to where we would like to go, line up for landing and put on a great show exploding on the runway in a giant fireball for everyone to see! :banghead...

What power tool do you use for PC assembly?

Small electric screwdriver I got off Amazon for cheap. Gets the job done, but nothing special.

    €500 upgrade

Well that sucks. I honestly didn't know that...I thought all their LGA115x coolers were upgradable with the little $15 kit. Not too shocked though... corporations and planned obsolescence being what it is. I was pretty convinced in the advice I gave OP earlier, but the more people post the...

    €500 upgrade

To add to this, depending on the cooler model, you can get LGA1700 brackets from Corsair I believe.

Anyone else deep into Flight Sims?

Yeah, the 9 and 0 got weird, but now that I'm used to it, it's second nature. The AA and AG Master Mode locations worked really good though, as well as the DED switch. I'm in the process of mapping the controls for the P-51, but it's been a long, arduous task because I keep getting...

    €500 upgrade

I gotta say, this looks like a great upgrade! It'll hold OP over for a few years until DDR5 matures and gets cheaper for a complete platform upgrade. OP has some really tough choices, as the budget is right in the range to open up tons of different configurations with varying degrees of pros...

Anyone else deep into Flight Sims?

Unfortunately they do not. There are some options out there, but they get really pricey, as in too pricey to justify for my "hobby." The VKB sticks have interchangeable springs for different return strength and dry clutches for the axis to control the resistance, including the ability to...

    €500 upgrade

This is definitely not a bad idea either. If OP wants to hold out for a larger budget, I would even try to find a used 9900k for cheap just to drop in for the time being. It would give some breathing room for the 4070 over the 8600k, and should just drop right in with a BIOS update. JAT

Anyone else deep into Flight Sims?

I am drooling over the entire WW ICP/MFD setups, especially with the active screens in the MFDs! My son, the 3d printer/electrical wizard guy, is looking into printing some casing to put some screens in the imitation MFDs I have. He saw a video on Youtube and I can't wait to see if it works...
