    Help me diagnose HW failure

Ok we won't rely on those. Short of testing a different PSU with the same voltage, anything else I can do to rule out other hardware?

    Help me diagnose HW failure

Some memory related, some generic pointing to nothing. But again, swapped memory, and swapped DIMM slots, didn't affect crashes). Most of the time the crashes are application only and the system stays alive. I didn't have any issues with the previous 700w PSU I was running(prior to...

    Help me diagnose HW failure

Heya I've had something plaguing me for some time. The symptom most often observed is application crashes, particularly games, but I've also had BSoD outside of games and in them. I have a P5Q-E, Q9400, 4x2gb ddr2, 3 7200rpm sata3, a dvd-rw, ocz 700w stealthxtreme, 3 120mm and 1 80mm case...

    6870 OC thread

Hey just playing with the new Sapphire 6870, wondering what stable clocks the community has been able to hold up so far with their 6870's. I've been able to hold up 1000/1150 with 1.3v(or 2999 as it shows in Trixx) with fan at 60% and a temp of 70c. It's the first clocks I've been stress...

ASUS P Series Notebooks Now Equipped with New Intel Anti-Theft Technology

Thiefs don't know the difference between your Asus anti theft laptop and a t40, and if they want your data, they are going to get it.

    MSI Unveils DDR2+DDR3 Combo Motherboards

They are kind of late with the offering, Asus released a DDR2/DDR3 combo board for P35 in 07...P5KC. I admit, I haven't had need for DDR3 yet, but I was so devastated when I bought my s939 and then DDR2 became mainstream, that I didn't want to buy a boad that would be left in the dust again...

    Help me OC my E6550!

Are you watching temps and voltages? You will fry your chip if they go too high

    Help me OC my E6550!

Hey Sirus you're in luck. I've been playing a bit more with my settings this morning and saw some sweet results. The problem I found with setting FSB to 400, is the auto Vcore voltage is way too high. I've been able to test 428 FSB with a vcore of 1.25v in the BIOS(Translates to 1.168v in...

    Help me OC my E6550!

Well I found the vcore to be way too high on auto at 400 fsb, but seemed stable at 1.12v. Still what does the 1600 fsb number mean? just the total frequency when quad pumped?

    Help me OC my E6550!

I'm not looking to max it out, just wondering what effects running a 1600 fsb or higher when the norm is 1333. I thought that might be overclocking the chipset or something, or maybe it's just a number that only affects the cpu?

    Help me OC my E6550!

Yeah using stock heatsink, but with AS5 equivalent thermal paste. I'm surprised at the voltages and heat when running stock values...I'm recording values with 333FSB and auto voltage: 1.272v and 56C at load, considerably higher than 400 FSB! I'm not really interested in pushing past stock...

    Help me OC my E6550!

*update* Decided to check stability while waiting - FSB 400x7 - Left vcore on auto to see what I ended up with, the CPUZ voltage was 1.384(low end of the vdroop) and caused my core temps to reach 65C within 3 minutes...I'd like to keep them below 65C so I decided to manual set vcore. I'm not...

    Help me OC my E6550!

Heya, After scratching my head for a while I figured out to alter my FSB or multiplier, i have to enter numerical values, not select values....not something I'm used to.. Anyways, I'd like to produce a modest OC to my E6550. Not the max of what I could do, just 3.0 GHz or so. I have...
