Ok, yeah, if I actually got no video, I'd probably have to do it blind. But here's hoping. :ohwell:
Thanks for the modded BIOS, I'll have to try it out (hopefully later tonight). I'll post back if I have any problems or whatever.
Thanks.
Yikes! Haha. Ok, I think I pretty much understood most of that. The "scary" part is what I might have to do if I have problems. I think I pretty much understood what you mean to make a boot disk/cd. What exactly do you mean by "wonky", like...are there certain things I would see? Anything...
Ok, I'd love to do this, but I guess I have no idea how. I searched this site for "ATiWinFlash" and got to this page. I downloaded Winflash 1.14 and extracted it to a folder. I ran the program called ATiWinFlash.exe and a window opens up. It gives me the options to "Load Image" or "Save". I...
See...I have no idea what you just said. Ha. And I wish I did. :banghead: Well, I did understand the last sentence. I apparently only know enough to get myself in trouble. Big trouble. :D
I don't understand what you mean by "going screwed". And yeah, I'm not really sure how to check...
Ah. Ok. I wonder if that might be the "problem". Do you know what kinda temps you were getting before you made the fan changes? I started messing around with ATi Tray Tools yesterday (actually to the point that I was afraid that I "broke" my card), but anyways, I tried the option that keeps...
Nothing yet Formula. :ohwell: By the way, I was wondering, had you made any changes to your fan settings that might have helped it to achieve your low temps?
Ok, Formula350, I'll try asking and see what happens. Ha.
And I'm jealous of Kenny's DL speeds too. I got a little over 1000 kb/s. Someone else on here had a speed of over 6000!
One of the things that I did before I closed it back up was to clean out (blow out) all the dust in the case (which really wasn't too bad). I didn't see a lot of dust buildup on the cooler. But I blew out and and cleaned up what little dust there was.
Do you think they'd let me RMA it? I...
Well, I put it back together and checked out my temps again.
It looks like I was right about the temps the first time...well at least according to the version of Catalyst I have. I just turned on the PC about 5 minutes ago, and the temp reading is 55C. So, that's at idle I guess. It was at...
Ok, now that I think about, I wonder if it wasn't running about 50C not 71C. When I had checked it last, I was also checking out the temp on my CPU at the same time. My PC's apart and at home right now or I'd check for sure. Would 71C sound like a normal temp for an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+...
The last time I had checked I saw temps of about 71C, this was after only about 30 minutes of gaming. From what I've read, that's not a bad temperature. If I understand correctly anything over 90C would be something to worry about.
I'm not completely sure at the moment if I've got the IceQ...
Ok, I guess I got confused.
Between the VF900-Cu LED and the VF900-Cu, is the only difference that the first has LEDs?
That's the one I meant in my first post, but I just realized that the latter one was the one that was referenced in x800prof's thread.
I just wanna make sure the only...
Ok, thanks. It looks like the Zalman is much better. For some reason Tigerdirect has it for $39.99 while Newegg has it for $48.99.
Now I just have to find out how to take the stock fan off. Ha.
I've got an HIS Radeon X1800XT 256MB with it's stock fan. But I'm a little worried that it's getting too hot in my case. And even if it isn't really getting too hot, I'm a little "paranoid" about it. I would rather just get it cooler (and quieter would be a plus) so I don't have to worry about...
