Help! Win 7 and old chipset.

I would suggest going into the bios and disabing the onboard NIC, and spending $10 at newegg for a new PCI NIC card. I have an old 939 Tyan Nforce4 board, and the only way I was able to get it to work was by using the specific driver set from their website, because the Nvidia legacy drivers...

    Close to finished setup!

I would have suggested the 4850, since the new stuff is driving down prices, but back to what you asked....the 4670 will run much cooler and use alot less power.

    Angled SATA Connectors

Right on! It's been a while since I was actively folding, but are GPU scores out of the beta testing, producing solid stable results, like the parallel processing done on CPUs? The only reason I ask is because the last time I checked, FOH was using GPUs to re-crunch previously completed tasks.

    Angled SATA Connectors

oh, kewl. Do you know if Stanford was ever able to get FOH able to utilize Dual GPU cards correctly? Last I heard was that people were able to get one GPU per card to run.

    Angled SATA Connectors

My question is: Why are you putting 4 Nvidia Cards on a AMD board designed for Xfire? Unless you're planning on driving 8 monitors.

    My friends computer

oh gawd, that reminds me of when my tower was at my in-law for 6 months with the wife. there were open windows to the outside, 5 cats, and the output of 4 chain smokers getting sucked in at 80 cubic feet per minute. when I finally got that tower back I spent 3 days gutting it and cleaning...

Device manager wont detect my Wifi Card

do you have another PCI slot to try it in? if not get a can of compressed air, and clean out the slot on your motherboard. if that doesn't work try it in a buddy's computer to make sure it's the card and not your mobo. and if that doesn't work, RMA the sucker, buy WRT-54GL, flash it with...

Radeon 4800 Series HDMI poor picture quality

What OS are you using, and what version of catalyst control center are you using? option a) possibly an old driver issue option b) could be an HDCP issue with the HDMI (I've seen this before) I'm using a 16ft DVI to HDMI that is rated for 1080p and HDCP between a HD4890 and a 42" Sharp...

    HD4850 vs HD3870

Right now seems to be a good time to buy video cards. I picked up 2 XFX 4890s for under $400 USD. I remember paying over $500 for the X800XT when it first came out.

DD-WRT and Airport Extreme Base Station

I'm trying to think, it's late.... I know with newer RTRs they support 2 modes: AP and AP+WDS. If you want a true bridge to bridge where they only talk to each other you might end up having to get another RTR running dd-wrt or tomato. I'm not that familiar with dd-wrt, but you might want to...

    wrt54g to n router benefit?

are we still on the same page? I'm talking about RF interference, bleed-over, and unintentional jamming. like, all of my neighbors are running on either channel 1 or 6, so I run my stuff on CH 13 to avoid interference and RF overlapping. So that way I have quite a bit of room to work with.
