Radeon Software Adrenalin 22.2.2 optimizations to Smart Access Memory

Hi, With the release of Radeon Software Adrenalin 22.2.2, optimizations to Smart Access Memory when using an APU were made. Up to 24% performance increase suggested. If you still have a 5700G or 5600G laying around, this could be quite interesting to test. The press release only mentions...

    Microstutters in almost every game

Yes it's in the BIOS. Could also be under the name "FCLK" (Infinity Fabric Clock Speed).

    Microstutters in almost every game

Infinity Fabric set to 1600MHz? If so then I'm at lost here. Still looks like a memory issue to me since the issue was aggravated. Someone with more Ryzen Gen 1 knowledge may be able to help you. Command Rate set to 1T (not 2T)?

    Microstutters in almost every game

    Set tRFC2 to 416 and tRFC4 to 256. tRFC1 should already be at 560.

    Upgrade suggestions

Can't answer with the info provided. What is the exact model of your Dell XPS? If you have the 500W PSU which comes with 2x6PIN, you may be fine with your current one. What is your budget?

Ryzen 1600AF Driver disabled in device manager?

I would start by reinstalling the chipset drivers.

    Microstutters in almost every game

Try the following (this wont give you the best framerates but that's not the goal here). If it fixes the issue then you can work on improving timings to achieve better performance.

    Microstutters in almost every game

I still think the issue is RAM related. What are your current timings? Download the Ryzen DRAM Calculator : https://www.techpowerup.com/download/ryzen-dram-calculator/ and click on "Compare timings" and post a screenshot. With my 3600X, I had a "lag" with A-XMP (everything seemed slow, I would...

    Microstutters in almost every game

Does it stutter even when you're not gaming? Are videos stuttering? Do you notice your mouse stuttering while browsing? I guess that you have 2x8GB, are the RAM sticks in the grey slots? If they're in the black slots move them to the grey slots, that's what Gigabyte recommends. If it did not...

Overwatch 2 Supports PvE, Coming to BlizzCon

By supporting China over Hong Kong, Blizzard wont be getting a cent from me. There is only one thing which matters for Blizzard and Activision and that is money. They chose money over freedom so they can eat poop.

The costs of Intel gaming vs AMD gaming, who wins? Actually Intel this round, cheaper and faster.

1- You paid $110 for the ASRock Steel Legend Z390. You can buy the ASRock Steel Legend B450 for the exact same price. 2- Since you bought a non-k CPU, it does come with a boxed cooler but a loud and poor performing one. The Ryzen 7 3700x comes with the Wraith Prism which is a decent cooler. Most...

    G-sync on Freesync?

Windows 7 support ends in 6 months (January 2020). I don't think it's a crappy move by NVIDIA. There is no good reason for them to waste time and money to support an EOL OS. You can still upgrade for free using the Microsoft upgrade tool if you have a legit Windows 7 licence. You can disable...

Radeon 7 is Released, What Would You Buy?

I voted "Nothing, I am disappointed with current stack of GPUs" because of the current prices. $700 for the Radeon 7 or $700 for the RTX 2080. Here in Canada, it will probably translate to ~1000CAD... lol Not interested. I don't care if it's 3x faster than the previous gen, I'm not paying that...

    80°C on RTX 2080

Get the case out of the cupboard for testing purposes, if temps are still this high then it's not the cupboard. If temps do improve then you'll know why it's so high.
