Windows 10 Refresh Rate, no option for 90HZ, just 85 then 120.

Thanks for all the informative replies. If it is a baked in setting then i probably will just stay with 85HZ since it's very close to 90HZ anyway. I tried the Nvidia Control Panel FPS Limiter but running 90fps at 120hz causes micro stutters, meanwhile 85fps at 85hz is perfectly smooth.

Windows 10 Refresh Rate, no option for 90HZ, just 85 then 120.

My monitor is 165HZ but i run it at 120HZ because i think that is high enough for my tastes. My issue is that i can't run some games at a constant 120 so i chose a lower refresh rate in game that matches what my GPU is more comfortable to maintain for whatever certain game. I know i have...

TechPowerUp Releases ThrottleStop 9.6—Take Control Over Your Processor's Power Management

Perfect, i recently got a laptop that when plugged in would clock too high and just created unnecessary heat, noise and power consumption. Simply ticking the Disable Turbo option keeps CPU clocks down to on battery levels which is perfectly fine for my daily usage requirements. One problem is i...

30 Series Custom fan curve Headaches!

Looks like i have fixed the problem. I need to set the fan speed to high 40's, currently i am set to 50% and the RPM is ~850 and not dropping off. If i lower the fan speed to a value down in the 40 range it starts causing the RPM drops. Think of it like a car engine, if you are idle at 700rpm...

30 Series Custom fan curve Headaches!

In the image you can see i set the fan speed to a constant 35%, i then set it to increase speed to 50% as the temps rise, i usually set my curve to something like that, currently testing my new 3060 and will fine tune curve as i see fit. Problem is the Fan RPM is not constant with the 35% fan...

MSI RTX 3070 Ventus 3x Fans Stuck at 30% sometimes

Nearly 10 months later and my GPU behaves the same. I have set the Power Limit to 80% and limited the Voltage to 1 volt, so the card doesn't really get hot anyway, power consumption maxes out at 176 watts. The fans stay at 40% at idle and slightly increase as temps go up into the 60's. Overall...

    Your PC ATM

I didn't do any before or after temp checks but it probably helps. The GPU throws heat out the side so having the Noctua fans blowing that heat up and away should help keep the case cooler and stop some of that heat from going back into the GPU fans.

    Your PC ATM

Yes it's intake, i put a filter on the outside to catch dust. It makes sense to me to draw in air for the CPU cooler with the fan mount that is right next to the CPU, rather than the fan mount further away on the front of the case. Then the 140mm's on the roof exhaust the heat.

    Logitech has gone mad!

I had a logitech mouse that started double clicking, got rid of it and got the Asus Carry mouse which has easy to replace switches. In general i don't care for Logitech anymore and want to avoid their stuff.

    What are you playing?

Finished Cyberpunk today, about 80 hours, it was good but nothing amazing, definitely oversold by CDPR and overhyped by the fans. Still enjoyed my time with it, i started the game on Jan 1st running v1.06, no major issues just all the regular bugs everyone gets. I will now go back to San...

    What's your latest tech purchase?

Finally got a nvme cooler, i have had a Crucial 1TB nvme for a while with no cooler, but recently got a Samsung 970 500GB nvme which is faster and to keep it cooler i thought i would put a heatsink on it. average max temps while playing Cyberpunk came down about 10-15 celsius. i still have the...

MSI to Release New Revision of RTX 3060 Ti: Ventus 2X V1

Why are they trying to pump so many watts into cards, my 3070 used about 220w stock until i put the power limit to 80% now it uses 175w and runs cooler and quieter, only lost a couple fps. I can have the exact gaming experience at 175w than i can using 220w, wish i experimented with lowering...

    3060ti undervolting

On all the video cards i have owned i always put the Power Limit slider to max, but with my previous GTX 1070 i experimented lowering it, i noticed the performance would only slightly drop if i set it to 90% or even 80%, under 80% the performance loss became greater. Now with all this recent...

MSI RTX 3070 Ventus 3x Fans Stuck at 30% sometimes

Update 2, i reinstalled the drivers again, reinstalled afterburner, but the custom curve won't work. When custom curve enabled the fans speed up but only to 42%, i have no idea why 42% is the limit no matter if i set it to go higher it wont, i now disabled the custom curve and have it set to...
