    Intel I5 8600k vs AMD R5 2600X

Faster in what aspect ? (computer have many uses, too vague of a question) It says in your specs that you have a 4k monitor. If where talking about gaming at 4k then the difference is insanely small Depends on the resolution. According to his specs he is running 4k so at that resolution the...

    Scythe Fuma 2

Claims he's not super high on noctua but then proceeds to bash techpowerup review because its too close to noctua performance......... If anything that eteknix review raises more red flags than this one.

    Scythe Fuma 2

Agreed. Interested in @notb view since he's super high on noctua

Build new system now or wait

Agreed. Where so late into the generation that a 3770k should meet your needs for now (3770k with a fair amount of ram + an SSD is fine for 90% of people). Late 2020 as it gets closer to the next generation of game engines/consoles would be a better time for sure if you are getting what you need...

Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT Nitro+

lol at @Shatun_Bear liking this (of course he would) Thanks for the explanation :toast:

    AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT

Retest will be when third party coolers come out (should be some more mature drivers as well). Reviews are all over the place (new drivers, new architecture, thermal issues, game selection) so where probably just gonna have to wait it out. I don't think him re-reviewing it this exact moment...

    AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT

Agreed. Right now this card is good but not great (high temps, loud output, basically same performance as the same priced nvidia counterpart, higher wattage, no 3rd party coolers). August could be interesting if they can get third party cards out by then. Would like the see a re-review with...

Ive been offered an Intel 9700k for below new 8700k price, worth it?

The problem is most people who post on a PC hardware board are enthusiast and don't look at it from just an average joe practicality point of view. CPU's like the 2600k and higher are literally plenty for 90% of users/programs and is over 3x faster than the CPU in the PS4/xboxone Most game...

    2600K vs current Intel (OC/stock)

Falls behind in what exactly ? The technology is so far advanced from both the game engines and the power of the consoles that 90% of users can accomplish there task without any issues. People keep saying falling behind when in reality it's basically "oh you might only get high settings...

    2600K vs current Intel (OC/stock)

Nobody is saying go buy them today but that doesn't negate that there still fully capable of doing what they need to do (they don't sell quad core i5s anymore but previous owners aren't screwed or obsolete or struggling). You can't say where well past it when it meets the needs of 90% of users...

    2600K vs current Intel (OC/stock)

The 2013 consoles using a lowend laptop CPU helped the 2600k age like wine. The 2600k is at least 3x faster than the consoles CPU which helped it age good (in 2019 it can still run games at very high settings with a mid tier GPU or higher, not bad) The main reason why it's still a good CPU...

    Noctua NH-U12A

That's actually what i'm arguing. For the price it doesn't offer the best/nice balance (there's other brands that will give basically 90% as good as the performance cooling/noise wise for a fraction of the price). My $45 MSI Core Frozr is a single 120mm, good ram clearance, barely hear the fan...

    Noctua NH-U12A

I would rather gamble the longevity of an MSI fan than spend over 2x what I paid for it for basically the same performance (MSI isn't exactly a cheap penny pincher brand). I do agree that there are "cheap" brands out there but that doesn't mean there aren't solid brands that can do the same...

    Noctua NH-U12A

I paid $45 for the MSI CPU cooler and it offers basically the exact same performance and fan noise as this $100 cooler.
