I took a ruler and put it a few millimeters off the board and measured to where the case side would be and eyeballed it. a better way would be to take the current hsf off and stick your ruler to the cpu and use a straight edge across the case side, I just say to measure cause I was a little...

if you are looking at either the 9500 or 9700 you may want to measure the room you have left inside your case and double check that you have enough hieght that is required, I only had about 1cm of room left over from my 9500.

as a rule of thumb I try to keep under 55C.. you can always keep pushing it.. I personally think you could benifit from some bios tweaks, I dont have your board so I can't help ya there. Also when you decide to get a new hsf you might want to make sure you have space for a new northbridge...

hes got quite a bit already. His old 900 mhz compaq finally died (reason for building), the monitor is 2 years old. If some of his parts dont work ill just give him some spare junk I have laying around until he upgrades it himself.. besides gives other family members a reason to buy him...
