AMD Reports 2012 Fourth Quarter and Annual Results

Don't count them out just yet. They've been hiring good people and with a bit of luck and hard work things can turn around for them.

What made you go Water Cooling?

I initially went for water cooling for the performance, to get every bit out of my hardware that I could. It even became a nice little hobby for me. Doing total DIY systems and even going to manufacture with my own block design, as in my avatar. It's been a total blast and a good way to relax...

Please Reset Your TechPowerUp Forums Password

Looked over my original post and it seems a bit harsh, so my apologies on that. However I very much would like a reply to those questions. I don't post much but I'm a long time member who reads this site everyday.

Please Reset Your TechPowerUp Forums Password

PW reset, thank you for the heads up on this. Now to ask a few questions... 1) Wizz, I know what Hashed and Salted means, but maybe you could enlighten us a bit more? What methods were used? A properly salted and hashed password table will be pretty much useless to hackers correct? 2)...

Ref 670 for $368, or non ref 660 for $308?

Calling someone stupid for a typo is well... just stupid.

Ref 670 for $368, or non ref 660 for $308?

Personally I would grab one of the 7970 reference editions that are selling for well under $400. Like the Visiontek for $368, or the Diamond for $386. They easily flash to the 7970 ghz edition bios. I got the Diamond since it comes with dvi/hdmi and other adapters. Flashed it to the ghz bios...

    Microsoft Windows 8 Gaming Performance

I'll be one of the few that agrees with Mailman. Win 8 is the future. I have it as my main OS. I HATE Metro, but I am growing used to it. However the other features of Win 8 are not to be ignored. Suck it up peeps, you'll all be using it soon enough...

    Windows 8 Box-Art Revealed

I agree, the box is appealing to the eye. Don't understand all the trolling and hate for Win 8. Granted its not perfect, but when you consider what MS is trying to achieve they have done a rather stellar job for their first OS. I've been using Win 8 Release Preview for some time. I'ts...

Is it my graphics card or something else

Thats pretty much a heat issue. Blow out your entire system. And not just with those duster cans. They really don't have the "oomph" needed to properly clean all dust from your computer. I'm a a carpenter so i have a air compressor at hand and use it to blow out my system every couple months...

Beer + Computer = Bad Day , Is my Motherboard RMA'able?

Here's a novel idea, why not have your "mate" pay for the damages he did and quit trying to stroke a Asrock?

    RBE v1.28 launched!

Thank you for the reply BagZZlash. Reason I asked is because post #3 in this thread said it is possible to change the voltage. http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=141069 I just wanted to hear from others if it was true before I tried to modify my bios. And Booooo to AMD...

    RBE v1.28 launched!

Does RBE allow changing of voltages and fan speeds for the 6850 cards? I have a XFX 6850 reference design. I'm hoping to change voltages and fan speeds in bios, then use the CCC hack to up my Overdrive limit. Thank you. :)
