AMD "Strix Halo" Zen 5 Mobile Processor Pictured: Chiplet-based, Uses 256-bit LPDDR5X

1280GB sounds about enough, also just add an extra 8GB in there for a specific kind of middle finger to Apple & their stupid fanbase :D

AMD "Strix Halo" Zen 5 Mobile Processor Pictured: Chiplet-based, Uses 256-bit LPDDR5X

Intel would've released 8 core SB then & killed both of them in one fell swoop :nutkick:

AMD "Strix Halo" Zen 5 Mobile Processor Pictured: Chiplet-based, Uses 256-bit LPDDR5X

It would still be the most power efficient solution out there, thanks to LPDDR5x of course.

AMD "Strix Halo" Zen 5 Mobile Processor Pictured: Chiplet-based, Uses 256-bit LPDDR5X

Even with that the hit is massive, generally speaking linux builds score higher across the board in CPU benches when comparing (same) hardware. I've always speculated a lot of that is down to the number of useless services always enabled/required on Windows. But in recent years there's also...

Depends, I'd argue Windows itself is crap ~ https://www.phoronix.com/review/framework-16-windows-linux/6

No, looks like a competitor to M4/pro/max & above! It's also possible AMD/Intel may finally get around to enable quad channel memory on normal (high end) desktops to fend off Apple & Co in the future. Right now they do have the slight advantage of more "choice" wrt RAM or SSD, but they're quite...

TSMC to Introduce Location Premium for Overseas Chip Production

Pricing is always in the hands of the maker, we don't get cheap iPhones here just because Apple has to pay for lower wages or in China for that matter. Oh & capitalism greed says hi :pimp: You also paid for billions of dollars of endless (corporate) bailouts since 2007/08 so nothing new here!

    Samsung Develops Industry's Fastest 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X DRAM

They're not selling it even now, at least if you look at their parts catalog on the site ± https://www.micron.com/products/memory/dram-components/lpddr5x/part-catalog Maybe they're waiting for more handouts "aid" from the US govt o_O I've also not seen any other QC mobile SoC with 9600 MT/s...

    Samsung Develops Industry's Fastest 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X DRAM

Considering these would be used in high end smartphones you're almost certainly 100% wrong, also the fastest LPDDR5 varaint before this was SK Hynix's 9600 MT/s one used for Dimensity chips, there's no 9600 MT/S LPDDR5x versions that I know of ±...

When are we going to use 12bit 68B-colour PC screens?

Probably never, at least in some of our lifetimes? That phone screen is also 10bit+FRC, there's no 12bit commercial displays that I'm aware of. I know someone mentioned Sony on this forum IIRC but even that was just a (true) 10bit(?) display.

That would still show up on SMART though, the numbers you need to keep track of are ~ Available Spare Threshold Percentage Used Media and Data Integrity Errors With the last one arguably the most important among the three.
