Latest driver causes 25% CPU usage in crossfire

Cool program, it's saying a lot of my devices are unknown though, don't see any bright explanation marks or nothing. I've sent ticket to AMD and submitted driver issue form. Everything points to driver issue because for sure crossfire works fine, can see it working in MSI afterburner when I...

Latest driver causes 25% CPU usage in crossfire

Yes I had thought it may be sound conflict. At the moment there isn't ATI sound device under sound but maybe one appears with new drivers. I've also disabled MS UAA Bus driver under system devices, there are 2 for each card. Motherboard is Asus Formula IV, have ATI card at top then X-Fi in next...

Latest driver causes 25% CPU usage in crossfire

Same story without OCL - 25% cpu usage. Maybe I will try uninstalling, remove the second card and see if same thing happens and try some different combinations, may be one of those things that fixes itself after messing around.

Latest driver causes 25% CPU usage in crossfire

Thanks will try that and report back. Yea I run BC2 everything maxed in game with everything maxed in CCC except Anti aliasing mode in middle possition and I get 40+ all the time, most of time is 60+ - how insane is that! To be honest it looks nice but my eyes perhaps not what they used to be...

Latest driver causes 25% CPU usage in crossfire

I meant have not had to reformat OS for 5 years due to regular Acronis images. This OS has seen quite a few hardware changes and I have been wanting to try Win7 for a while now so I guess I will make Win7 my primary gaming OS. This OS runs games great, in fact it runs everything great but I see...

Latest driver causes 25% CPU usage in crossfire

Yes but this is obviously driver issue. Having said that this OS is more than 5 years old, using Acronis True image is the reason for that so is maybe time for new Win7 install though this OS is still rock solid and this may possibly be issue for others.

Latest driver causes 25% CPU usage in crossfire

Hi, Win XP SP3 with Phenom 4x at 3.2Ghz. I had feeling it may be OS and am considering buying and installing Win7 but it works fine with driver from CD and crossfire is working so don't know why latest drivers cause hardware interupt issue.

Latest driver causes 25% CPU usage in crossfire

Have just got 2 HD6970 Asus cards. If I use drivers on CD everthing works as expected and crossfire works with normal CPU usage. If I download latest drivers from Asus or use latest ATI drivers, when I enable crossfire and reboot my CPU is at 25% ish. If I disable crossfire and reboot it's...

    50Hz HDTV for gaming

Actually without triple buffering there are still some small stutters every now and then even when frames are locked at refresh rate. This is why I use triple buffering even though I know from testing that frames won't ever drop below refresh rate, to prevent tiny stutters. Performance and...

    50Hz HDTV for gaming

Yea, I can eliminate vsync stutters though and I've done some long races in rFactor and not had a single stutter at all with frames locked at 50. If you can test with fraps on your HDTV I'd really really appreciate it but but not sure how if it has no games on it at all.

    50Hz HDTV for gaming

It is going to go away if I can make sure the settings I use mean that frames don't drop below 50. To test this I simply disable vsync and run fraps test. If min is 52 then I can safely run 50Hz vsync on and never get a single stutter period.

    50Hz HDTV for gaming

Damn OK so not sure if it remains at 50 for gaming, probably does stay at 50 but for me I wouldn't buy HDTV if it switched back to 60 when game loads and I choose 50Hz refresh rate in CCC.

    50Hz HDTV for gaming

The FPS drops are caused by the game for example in intense firefights. I use D3dOverrider to force triple buffering which smooths things out a lot when frames go below the refresh rate, in fact I imagine that's how consoles work - is just not silky smooth though. However I have AM3 4x at 3.2GHz...

    50Hz HDTV for gaming

Hi Mussels, so where were you able to choose 50Hz? Do you have an ATI card? And do you notice any input lag, what HDTV do you have? Are you sure it's running at 50 frames in game when you choose 50Hz? When frames drop below refresh rate with vsync on there are some stutters even when using...

    50Hz HDTV for gaming

Doesn't anyone have a 50Hz HDTV they use for gaming? I've also read about input lag and I think I would noticed even only a few milliseconds.
