i have found with the latest drivers and 7970 GHZ i need to disable and re-enable crossfire in CCC every reboot.

as mussels has said the main reason for my lower idle wattage is my mobo, it was one of the key reasons i decided on the mobo in the first place. also if i have worked out my KJ usage for wprime correctly i come out at 28.9 KJ (200.827 * 144 = 28919.088 (28.9 KJ )).
