2018 Was the Year of VR Headsets - Except it Wasn't, According to Steam Hardware Survey

VR has been a revelation for me when it comes to simulation games. DCS World, Project Cars 2, iRacing. All elevated by the depth perception and presence in VR.

Help with turning a Dell precision t7500 server into a gaming rig

The T7500 is a CAD workstation and should have enough power supply for SLI. Add big video card of your choice and install video games?

USS Zumwalt (first stealth destroyer) leaves dry dock

No, the Yamato was built in Kure, Hiroshima. Some of the UK-built battleships like Kongo and Fuso were basically rebuilt and upgraded in Japan. The US had built a few cruisers for Japan pre-WW1, but they had all been scrapped by the time WW2 started.

    Bypassing Lenovo's graphics driver :)

While that's often the case with various drivers, the Intel driver will give the same error on a clean install. I believe the installer looks at something in the BIOS.

    Bypassing Lenovo's graphics driver :)

As you've found out, the Intel version of the driver doesn't normally allow you to install their version. You'll need to download the zip version of the driver, and use device manager to manually install from wherever you unzip it.

Going back to Windows 7 if i get one more BSOD!

This should be relatively simple to remedy. 0x7Es usually call out the offending driver. You could use something like bluescreenview to interpret the crash dump files and identify what driver is causing the issue.
