I have the evga 7800gt with a zalman cooler on it and used atitool to overclock it. Found max core to be 489 and max memory to be 630 (1260 effective). I run the card at 475 core, 610 memory to be safe and have had no problems. I get 7833 on 3dmark05 and 3828 on 3dmark06.

Actually i just got 2x1gb Mushkin ddr500 so the memory isn't a problem now. I can hit 2.49ghz now on 1.45V, but any higher than that I get errors running Prime95 within 15 minutes. Guess it was actually my voltage that has been holding me back. My motherboard right now is limited to 1.45...
