Reports of Ryzen 3000 High Idle Voltage Exaggerated, a Case of the "Observer Effect"

"AMD highly recommends Ryzen 3000 users to use the latest version of Chipset drivers, and enable the Ryzen Balanced power-plan " I installed the latest chipset drivers and the Ryzen power plan wasn't an option during installation, and I do not see in my Windows power plan options. I did see...

Leave the custom water cooling for a month?

I moved recently and had my PC in storage for 7 months with Mayhem's pastel white. Without doing anything, I just powered it on without any issues. 6 months later today, I drained my system (changing GPU and new GPU block), I didn't see any issues with settling. I was actually quite surprised...

Activision and Bungie Bring Amazon Alexa Skill to Destiny 2

I don't understand this. Why not just have it built into the game and use a mic? I would prefer to bind a key like "push to voice chat" to talk to ghost instead of having to say "Alexa, ask ghost to". We have to ask Alexa to ask Ghost... Am I missing something or is this really stupid? How...

New Sapphire 7950 CF with odd Boost results

Well, I wanted to run them stock at first for a few days and work my way from there. But Sapphire messed up on the BIOS and has the stock @ 925MHz and 1.25V. I have it @ 925/1250 1.050V right now, and I'm happy with this. I'll increase them when needed.

New Sapphire 7950 CF with odd Boost results

I understand ULPS and I have it disabled. After flashing the different BIOS, the card would stay at 0MHz even with a 3D application running. I restored its original BIOS and now all is well. My cards has the dual BIOS, one being stock 850MHz, and another with a push of a button 925MHz. In...

New Sapphire 7950 CF with odd Boost results

You're not seeing any boost, because Sapphire seemed to have made a mistake on the BIOS. From what I understand, Boost is supposed to have a GPU clock of 925Mhz, and Boost off should be 850Mhz. In my case, it's 925MHz whether boost is on or off. The one card ran at 0mhz when I flashed a...

New Sapphire 7950 CF with odd Boost results

Thanks for the replies. Wow, it's been so long, I still had my S939 specs. Specs have been updated. Okay so I was curious to see how much power my system is now using with these new cards, so I slapped on my Kill-A-Watt and noticed it was using less power with Boost ON. I figured it have to...

New Sapphire 7950 CF with odd Boost results

I just bought two new Sapphire 7950's from Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202026 The clock speeds (925/1250) doesn't change whether I have Boost on or off. What I did noticed though is that I'm getting better performance and GPU usage with Boost on. See...

Is my 4870 running too hot?

120C? LOL I guess I can stop worrying then. Thanks for the replies.

Is my 4870 running too hot?

That's good to know, I was just worried about the Summer. If I do have any heat problems when Summer arrives I'll just RMA to Sapphire. You have an X2, your fan speed is at 80% and your memory is clocked at 500. Are you saying my temps are good or bad?

Is my 4870 running too hot?

XXX is good. JK I didn't know, I'll choose another next time. So my temps is normal? Why are there so many people reporting really low temps on the Newegg customer reviews? And what would happen in the Summer when my room temp goes up from 15C to 30C+?

Is my 4870 running too hot?

It seems like my 4870 512MB is running really hot compared to what everyone else is saying. I have the one with the non reference cooler labeled "Silent Efficiency" yet it's not silent or efficient at all LOL. http://www.sapphiretech.com/us/produ...gpid=245&grp=3...
