    4x4GB on 970A-UD3 w/ 6-core Vishera

Well after testing some more, I have it stable at 1600MHz 9-9-9-28-2T. It throws errors with 1T but that's fine. I'm trying CAS 8 now and it POSTed and is running a test. I'm not as disappointed as I was earlier. Though, I guess it is a lesson on matched memory. Still, I like the low profile and...

    4x4GB on 970A-UD3 w/ 6-core Vishera

I did try putting CPU-NB voltage at 1.25v, should it go higher? I honestly didn't think I would have an issue with 2 unmatched sets of this memory. That's what I'm running right now on the computer I'm typing this on. Great and stable at 1920MHz 10-10-10-28 so far. Can't find that in 2x8GB for $70.

    4x4GB on 970A-UD3 w/ 6-core Vishera

An update: With the other set of sticks in, it POSTed at 1866MHz and is currently running through Memtest. I think it's safe to say that right now each pair of 2x4GB memory works fine at higher speeds but once all 4 sticks are together, it barely works at 1600MHz. Hopefully this isn't an...

    4x4GB on 970A-UD3 w/ 6-core Vishera

So I'm working on a build now with one of those new AMD Vishera chips, the 6-core 63xx. I have it on a Gigabyte 970A-UD3 and I'm trying to get 16GB (4x4GB sticks) of that under-rated Samsung memory going. I'm still waiting on the SSD and copy of Windows 7 to arrive so I haven't installed...

Got an 8-port 10/100 switch that works great. Yours for the cost of shipping.

I've read that can cause problems with some power supplies. I personally use the +5v line on my server fans and they're quiet and the computer is cool. Resistors work as well.

Thank you for the offer but I've already gone through one bad drive with this laptop. I really need something that doesn't have any known problems.

Does anybody have a spare decently healthy 7200RPM 2.5" SATA laptop drive? I have a 120GB 5400RPM that is quite agonizing, especially since I don't use much space. I would ask for a small "slow" SSD but I think that's asking a bit much :)

Does anyone have some desktop DDR 400 512MB or 1GB sticks they don't need? Trying to upgrade a computer on a budget and DDR prices seem pretty high now. Let me know what you have via PM. I'll gladly pay for shipping at least. Thanks!

Lets keep the thread going! To the person that wanted DDR laptop RAM, I have some listed in the OP if you still want some.

Yea, looking on the Cinematic Mod forums, people without The Orange Box have had issues. As tempting as it is to ask for HL2, I think it's best to let it be for someone that hasn't experienced the game yet :)

A question for those offering the Half Life 2 games: Will it accept mods? I'm interested in playing the latest Cinematic Mod which apparently requires The Orange Box's source engine. I don't know much about the source engine or if Valve updates the HL2 you guys have to the latest version? Can...
