Removed the wire and tried to solder a 6-pin onto the PCB, this did not work. However, soldering an 8-pin did work and unlocking the 87W draw (in bios) from the PCIe cable did work. It now draws roughly 125W from the PCIe and maxes out around 175W. increasing the Power did help overall. Also...

True.... :D But P4's were not alot faster than P3s, was just making a point that the P3's were remarkably quick and could hold their own against P4s; and towards that end they even upgraded the socket type for the mobile procs...

Either way...go with the SSD...if you want to drop $$$; OR you could just get the raptor setup and wait a year or two for the prices to go down on the SSD....

depends on whether or not you want to drop the cash.... random access hard drives do have their disadvantages....not many, but they are there... EDIT: meaning accessing small files, if your working with many small files, they tend to under perform mechanical HDs but if you use mainly large...

HD3870 does fine at 1280x1024, even crysis does pretty well..high settings: 25-30fps.. and a 9600GSO is pretty close in performance no?

newer P3 mobile CPUs were infact same as P4, trust me i know hardware... and there were converters for 478 desktop mobos to accept the 479 socket p4-m :D
