Installing modded atikmdag.sys for 9500 under Vista

I used to run XP with the 9500-9700 softmod for the longest time, and it was easy because the installer was modified... I'm having some trouble manually installing the modded atikmdag.sys on top of the CCC 7.7 software. In the add hardware wizard, I can install the driver, but it doesn't...

How to Mod ATI2mtag.sys, or DL ati2mtag_vista.49713.zip

Ah, I see. I suppose I can wait a couple days. I just get very persistent when I get it in my mind to do something and I wanna finish it NOW! But yeh, I understand... It's not a big deal at the end of the day, I'm just fiddling with a computer that probably will never ever run a game anyways.

How to Mod ATI2mtag.sys, or DL ati2mtag_vista.49713.zip

I'm trying to get the softmod for the ATI 9500 @ 9700 working on a new Vista install. Apparently the site to download the ati2mtag.sys is down (specifically for ati2mtag_vista.49713.zip) It appears that it's a hard file to find anywhere else! Does anyone have a link to another place to...

Increasing resolution limit in Catalyst Drivers

Even powerstrip cannot change the resolution beyond 1600x1200... Windows accepts the modes as valid, but the ATI drivers prohibit them from exceeding this at a lower level... so it only makes the DESKTOP that size, but the screen resolution remains at 1600x1200 (i.e. I have to scrol around to...

Increasing resolution limit in Catalyst Drivers

Uhm... which steps are you referring to exactly? Am I missing something?

Increasing resolution limit in Catalyst Drivers

Hrm... If this is the case, then it could perhaps be tweaked by hand... or perhaps with a 3rd party utility like powerstrip. If I use powerstrip, I wonder if the drivers will still limit it at what seems like a lower lever (like, closer to the hardware than the windows control for...

Increasing resolution limit in Catalyst Drivers

No, it is not able to use DDC information. I manually set the monitor in Windows XP (SP2), but it won't pick up the DDC. How can I do that? Also, another problem I'm having is that I can't figure out how to actually make the refresh rate override feature here actually work, but first things...

Increasing resolution limit in Catalyst Drivers

I just obtained a radeon 9500 that has been softmodded to a 9700. Things work fine with the softmod drivers, but I 'm not happy about the limit of the ATI drivers that does not allow one to increase the resolution of the monitors beyond 1600x1200. I used to run my two 21" monitors at 1800x1350...
