Intel's 9th Gen Core Gaming Benchmarks Flawed and Misleading

This just reinforces how Intel platform is more stable. Most of gaming users just want to throw the hardware inside the case, download the game and play... If you need to fine tune memory timings for the processor deliver the right performance, this is not a gaming/work platform, it's more of an...

Devil May Cry 5 PC Requirements Revealed - 8 Threads, 8 GB RAM Minimum

What a shallow way of thinking. If a game asks for a i3 4150 as minimum CPU requirement, I can assume any 4 thread processor can run it? Good news for Phenom 9850 users! C'mon TPU, you can do better than this...

    BIOSTAR Introduces H310MHC Entry-level Motherboard

Wasn't the H310 chipset discontinued a few weeks ago? Anyway, this board is oriented for budget PCs, mostly for Pentiums CPUs and single tasks...

    TomsHardware--GTX 1180 Expected in July

I don't like to take sides in a discussion like this, but as I said before: I have a factory OC Asus 780 Ti DirectCU II and I am sure that 970 is slightly better than GTX 780 Ti (5/10% specially in newer games), GTX 980 is considerably better than both and GTX 1060 3GB is better than all of...

    TomsHardware--GTX 1180 Expected in July

    - As a 780 Ti owner, I can state that GTX 980 is superior than GXT 780 Ti, not by a huge amount, still by a relevant margin. Same goes for 780 vs 970. - GTX 770 is a rebrand of GTX 680, with higher clocks, no real improvement. You can flash one's BIOS into another. The rest is pretty much...

Best May 2018 Upgrade for an older GTX 750ti User

I'm sad to know that something like this will NEVER be offered in Brazil. I would definitely buy a 600w PSU for 35 bucks with 1 year warranty if this was available here!

Best May 2018 Upgrade for an older GTX 750ti User

I don't know much about price ranges outside my country, but looking from my perspective your most obvious option is a second hand GPU. Your starting point should be a GTX 770/960, which are a good upgrade from a 750 Ti, and the sweet spot for online gaming is the GTX 780 Ti/970/1060. I was...

How much RAM does a PC need for games?

That's exactly the point, if you just want to play games in the literal sense, you really don't need more than that. Since the OP never stated what kind of quality he wants, anything from this point and on should be enough.

How much RAM does a PC need for games?

I do agree that 16GB is the optimal scenario for playing games in 2018, but 8GB is far from being a bad choice, specially if you look at the current RAM prices. I actually have 8GB rig, and it does pretty fine, with zero issues while gaming. I play PUBG almost every day, with Chrome, Discord...

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3 GB

4K is the future, not the present. When 4k gaming becomes an accessible reality, both 290x and 780 Ti will suffer o run anything. When 1080p monitors debuted in reviews and benchmarks, we had available cards like 7900GTX. Nowadays they are totally irrelevant and performance-wise inferior than...

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3 GB

You are correct, but keep in mind that that powertune will give you about 100 MHz only changing the cooler. I expect those 100 MHz to shift the tide in for AMD direction. That's why I think GTX 780 Ti should be priced 600~650$, and 699$ for top cooler versions.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3 GB

Amazing card, but I see no point to pricing it $699. An aftermarket cooler would make R9 290X faster and the final price would be still 50~75$ lower. 699$ should be the price for top cooled and oveclocked versions of GTX 780 Ti, like MSI Lightning or Asus Matrix.

    AMD Radeon R9 290X 4 GB

I agree with you, and I really miss 2009, when 5870 doubled the GTX 285 performance for $399 :nutkick: But given the actual price tag of the high end cards, this is definitely a step forward. I really think Nvidia will have to slash heavily the prices. I can't wait to see the impact of R9-290...

4870 to 6850 Upgrade (Benchmarks - Sleeping Dogs and Metro 2033)

Talking about your upgrade: If we were in 2010, i would recommend the Phenom for sure, but in 2013 it's not even an option IMO. Save some money for now and grab an i5. The extra bucks you will expend in an Sandy/Ivy Bridge is TOTALLY worth it, or if you want to stay in the AMD side, the FX...
