awesome! :rockout:

Of course I have only been using it for two hours. Idle temp at around 50C and it's quiet.

I ran CoD4 and was amazed at how nice it looked. Also ran Crysis Wars and was again amazed ... running it at 1900 x 1200 with no FSAA and it looks fantastic ... no FSAA is really needed ... and no system lag.

Using 8.9 driver release.

Glad I sent the GTX260 Maxcore back. :twitch:

FSX looks better with the 4870 and no menu hangs.

Glad you're happy with your piece! 4870s are such crazy beasts and if I wasn't invested in two of them I wouldn't have gone further but I had to know what it was like to beat a GTX280. I can't really say it did anything like that because I've used a 280 and the experiance is completely different as far as IQ and configuration. If I would have gone with the GTX280 or waited for the newer 260 I might have had a more biased opinion in favor of nvidia, but I came from a 3870 and the performance increase was astounding! Glad to hear your temps are nice and the cooler is silent! Refreshing to hear since most people will note the 4870 stock cooler as loud or inefficient; which is an opinion I don't hold. :)

Here's mine before and after :)

It does at least 850 on gpu - haven't had time to test it further.

Tried to take of the cooper 'heatsinks' that covers the ramchips (visible on the first picture), but was afraid of ripping the ram clear off the board..

Anyone done this?

Vargtass, i think your stock vReg cooler was better than that one you installed later... especially if it's cooper...

Maybe, but the stock VRM cooler isn't copper - it's made of rather thin aluminium.

My DIY heatsink is heavier, and it keeps the vrm below 50 degrees celsius at load, so no worries so far.

This card is truly amazing :)

Under my Maze 4 the GPU is Crysis/3Dmark stable somewhere around 890Mhz.
Note: No voltmod performed.

Tried 905 Mhz - but comp. rebooted after about 5 minutes into the game. Temperatures never above 38 degrees (C).

Haven't had the time to test the RAM yet.

That is seriously awesome :) I never got my cards over 850 stable. They still perform like F1 racers.
