Newegg.com, one of the most sucessful online retailers of computer hardware, appears to be eyeing the European market. Having cleared approximately 1.3 Billion USD in sales last year(5-7 Million dollars every day), the American etailer is considering targeting the european market via an aquisition, or wholly owned subsidary.

This will be cool. If they can go cheaper than Ebuyer I'll be amazed, but either way the deals won't be as good as those in the US because of our stupid taxes.

In my oprinion Newegg is in for an eye opener in Europe. They won't be able to use deceptive business practices over there. They'll find out real quick that fraud can land you in jail unlike in the U.S. where any thing goes as long as you pay the right people.

I'm liking the sounds of this. Competition is good for prices but I do agree they'll be shocked by our european market. Maybe theres hopes for us brits yet :laugh:

What the hell? Newegg is the best e-tailer around. I have done a LOT of buying through them, and have never had anything show up a day late, or them screw up the order. My 6800 died, RMA'd it and I had a new one within the week.

it will be interesting comparing the Newegg Euro prices with the US ones.. one thing the internet has done is allow people to compare prices more.. in the end this has to lead to an evening up or down of prices in general..

just listening to US guys quoting US prices makes the euros feel ripped off.. when enough folks get pissed off enough something has to happen..

remember people to keep you feet on the ground. remember even though this is newegg all the taxes in our market are going to push prices up a lot from what you find on the us site. Although if they set up a good rma system in the eu with similar/slightly lower prices I can see the site doing fantastically, should be good for getting some previously hard to get parts too *crosses fingers*.

I think you need to elaborate. Do they do something that screws their supplier because I've never had anything but the best experiences with newegg. In fact, I once bought a 6800 that went bad so I returned it for replacement. They didn't have any of the exact model in stock so instead of dragging their feet waiting for it to be in stock again they gave me a full refund.
