NVIDIA today responded on the Rambus accusation made last Friday. It's not a lot of information, but it's enough to tell that NVIDIA is confident of what it is doing and its partners are to be afraid of nothing.
NVIDIA has hosted a meeting with their AIC partners today to keep them updated about the Rambus issue. VR-Zone has learned that NVIDIA continues to deny all allegations brought forward by Rambus as they believe everything is legal so far and will co-operate fully with ITC. NVIDIA stressed that their customers will not be affected by this allegation. Also they mentioned that this case will likely to drag for the next 12-18 months.

I'd like to see what Rambus has to say about this. If Nvidia is that confident (especially with all they've been through lately).

I believe that can be answered by the number of lawsuites they actually won.

How many have they won? Isnt nvidia a rambus customer? This is the beginning of the end for Rambus - hopefully nvidia drops their XDR ram like a bad egg and goes with GDDR 5.

With so many patents going around, its hard to tell who or what you are doing wrong. Rambus should just let it go to be honest.

Rambus technology turned out to be a blind alley, and so now they're suing everyone to get a buck back on 10 worth of shareholder value....

Sigh.

No, GDDR5 is still a little bit slower than XDR, and XDR is just the first iteration of the XDR memory standard. There needs to be a change in system memory design, from DDR to DDR3, there are almost ZERO performance increases, the only advances made with each new generation are lower voltages, thats it. Its just silly to me, i would welcome XDR.

12-18 months - to prove that nothing is wrong!?!?

Rambus (or any other respectable Corporation) does not bring action without carefully establishing that a bonafide case exists. From public statements, it is clear this is a MAJOR case.

And Nvidias lawyers didn't scrutinize it either before Nvidia made such a bold statement?

I don't think so....not enough time passed-Attorneys had no time to review claim thoroughly.

Attorneys do not get in a hurry!
