Ok fellas! This is an utter weird thing that happened to me 2 days back. I'm gaming on an EVGA 9800GT (EVGA 512-P3-N975-AR) Core @ 695 and Mem @ 950 (1900). Furmark - 50 minutes stable. I fired up Crysis since I'm bored to death over FC2, played it like an hour and suddenly the system crashed with red artifacts (This has happened early when I was 700 on core, so I lowered it to 695 and it was stable with furmark)
I didn't restart the PC and just switched it off from the UPS and went to bed :D

My Display is Samsung SyncMaster 943NWX (19" Wide)
On the next day when I switched on the PC the LCD gave me an excessive RED tone, Boot Logo of my mobo (Foxconn) which is White was also RED, at the same time I noticed the Monitor displayed an OSD message saying you are not running the native resolution 1440x900.... (Can't remember it correctly). The PC booted up normally but everything was in excessive red,I did reset the LCD to factory defaults but with no luck  . I even checked it with the Onboard VGA to make sure the culprit isn't my 9800GT, so the onboard VGA gave the same RED, So its a case with the LCD panel, and I noticed the OSD of the Monitor works perfectly without any color issue, even the "Check Cable" warning is perfect. SO what's up with my LCD ? any thoughts ?
It's still under the warranty period (only 2 months since I bought it) but wanna know the reason for this awkward problem..
P.S : It isn't a loose contact :)

I had that once before... sounds like a loose contact, but its your card, not the monitor. Have you tried the monitor with another comp?

It's impossible for a video card overclock to kill a monitor. I have had this happen before with a loose connection where it hooks up. You may have a broken wire in the cable going to the monitor. I assume that this is VGA and not DVI. Are you using a VGA to DVI adapter? If so, try changing it.

Inspect the cable, make sure that there are no chew marks on it. I had a mouse chew through (ironically) my mouse cord once. Only 1 wire was broken, so I could move it up and down, but not side to side.

Thanks for the reply, The cable is fine from outside but not sure about inside though, might have broken due to bending,
on a side note this panel is only 2 months old

Hmm, I am thinking RMA if the cable is not detachable. On my Acer, I can just detach the cable and get another one.

Larger monitor = higher resolutions and quality = better looking on screen pics = bigger display area = you can simply see pics etc. much better than on a smaller monitor. 20-inch minimum screen size but 22-inch is better. I have a 22 and NEED a 24.

Minimum requirements:

1) 22 or 24-inch screen.
2) Contrast ratio about 1000 to 1, 800 to 1 is OK.
3) Brightness, maybe 600cdm, 400, 500, 600 and I think 800cdm are available.
4) Back IO hookups, at least one each of DVI, VGA (D-sub 15 pin), and one HDMI, maybe one SPD-TV, and one USB hook-up for additional uses.
5) Response time of 5ms max., but 2ms is better.
6) Adjustable stand with height and tilt forward and backward and side to side adjsutments, and a wall mount if you want to mount it on a wall.
7) Viewing angle of 160 to 179 degrees, where within that angle of view the pic on the screen will look the same as if you were looking directly 90-degrees at it, without fading or blurring from viewing it from a wide angle.
8) Built in speakers aren't necesary and usally not too good, but OK.

Basically, this is what you have to look for. Hurry up and do some web searching becuase Black Friday is coming and sales also everywhere from now till just after New Years. I get good deals after Xmas and New Years from the products that have not been sold over the holidays.

As far as I'm concerned, bigger is always better. I don't know if you use this system for gaming/work/internet surfing, but having a bigger monitor can help with all of those. You have more room to multitask with programs and with video games bigger is always better. Getting a bigger monitor is always better in my opinion.
