First full tower. Advice would be helpful.

Heres what i plan on using for my first full tower project

any advice from people who have used these parts would be appreciated

Case: COOLER MASTER HAF 932 steel full tower case

Mobo: Foxconn Destroyer AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 780a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard

CPU: AMD Phenom 9850 BLACK EDITION 2.5GHz Quad-Core Processor

PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-1000HX 1000W ATX12V 2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready modular psu

RAM: G.SKILL PI Black 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800

HDD: Western Digital Caviar 500GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive

GPU: PNY GeForce GTX 260 896MB

Eventually im gonna get a second GTX 260 And some small hard drive to put in raid and im not gonna bother with a dvd drive i almost never use one anyways

get this HDD instead WD drives run hot and slow

I think the whole setup is excellent for a first build. Excellent choice on the case. I have it. It's the best case I've ever owned...and I've owned 15 different cases over the last 4 years. I'd go with this HDD instead. Fastest and quietest HDD I've used.

actually the 320gb platter drives are one of the fastest single hdd's i should know go and take a look at the hdtune top list :laugh:

One other suggestion. I would buy 1066 sticks, and not the 800's. I've heard the Pi 800's do not clock very well. Here:

yeah im not to worried about hard drive speed eventually im gonna get 2 60gig ssd drives and put them in raid so it just needs to stay cool

yes im gonna use the disk drive from my old computer for installing the os

i wanted a PNY GTX 260 cause i had a 7600 gt that i abused constantly and it held up great but they dont list the 260 on newegg anymore so i guess i gotta try another brand

and i like the 1000w psu cause then i never have to worry bout even coming close to not having enough power plus i need enough connectors for future upgrades
