Can a 6800 be ok for a SAMSUNG 22inch ?

my boss got me a new PC with a 22 inch samsung screen and a Graphic card : ASUS EN 9600 GT

im wondering if i can swap it with my winfast geforce 6800

i dont do 3 D or gaming at work, just some 2D: photoshop, coreldraw, illustrator ect...

i never had such a big screen, so im wondering if my old card can handle it , so that i can take this new 9600 at home to enjoy NBA 2k9 fully with high settings...

There is a good little folding guide here on the forums, although here is the main site. You can help TPU as well, just by putting in a team code.

If you are working then the 6800 will be fine, but for gaming the other one would be far better. I wish work would give me a new computer!

take it home man, and play nba2k9 at full settings, that is awesome. I have in on my pc but its a little dicky with the kb, you need a gamepad.

The 6800 will be fine on the work pc.

eheh yeah u play 2K9 too ? that shit is amazing compared to nba live...

i called the store he bought the 9600 at...i can return it and spend some extra $$$ to get even higher end card....thinking maybe 260 or 280...

What are your sys specs man, and what size monitor do you have at home. A 260/280 may be a waste.

my monitor is shit hyundai 19 inch (...but ill probably get a 22inch samsumg this month...)

2-3 year old rig...but also thinking about buying a new machine later this year...
so i wont have to buy gfx card (and screen) when i get the $$$ to buy a new bomb ass PC

I tried NBA2K9 with asus 4870 and my monitor : it wasnt very fluid at high setttings... so my guess was that its either ATI or my screen that wasnt good enough...(also 2-3 years of age = probably not the fluid 2ms that u find nowadays)

my 4870 flashed with wrong bios is right now in repair... they might return a new one, or send it back untouched, so i can repair it myself now that friendly Bates has provided me with OG bios... but even when it worked this 4870 didnt satisfy me fully even on 19inch...

that why now im thinking nvidia + very high end...so i dont need to buy gfx card every 2 years...

the graphics card works with your processor therefore the lack of fluidity was prob jus from the cpu not supplying the gpu effectively therefore creating a bottleneck = less frames per sec

there were no pentium 4 dual cores at 2.4ghz, is it a pentium dual core 2.4ghz ? download cpuz here and that will tell you

If you do have an old pentium dual core. then it is definitely not the HD4870 that is slowing your games down bro. That card will play nba09 flawelessly.

I think you should spend your cash on a new mb n chip and keep the 4870. Its a friggin good card.

I echanged the broken flash 4870 for Gigabyte gtx 260 sup oc, brought my old 6800 at work

and exchanged the 9600 + some extra cash for a SAMSUNG TL220 HD...there were no TL200 no more and the seller told me this HDTV version was also 2 ms...but its 5ms ! is there much difference ?3ms i know... but i cant really visualise it

2ms is grey to grey, 5ms is the colour response time. Which is normal for any 22 or 24" monitor these days. Don't believe they even make a real 2ms monitor yet.

So have you tried nba again. I am interested to know if it runs any different at all. It doesn't look like you can put a core 2 in that mb. So the cpu you have is about as fast as that thing can handle. I would suggest buying a new mb and proc. you already have ddr2 ram so it can be a fairly cheap exercise.

you can even go second hand and get some bargins. Check out the fs section here for some good deals

there are quite a lot of parts on here for a good price.

wow i got one thing to say....ill never go ati again...
for 30 euros more the gtx 260 runs NBA2K9 perfect...no slow downs... no lag, no nothing , just a perfect game! even with old mobo and proc...

and thats on my old screen...at 1280x1024 all settings max!

well the samsung t220 is annouced at 2ms...its written on the box...the hd tv version is not...
