Which is faster? X800PRO or 7600GT?

All forum members,

I have recently busted my X1900GT, which is going to RMA'd very soon. However I need a card at the time being to play games... etc. Right now I'm getting an X800PRO VIVO PCI-e (is it unlockable?), and I just wanted your opinions on whether X800PRO or 7600GT is faster/better.

Objective and subjective opinions both are welcome, please don't tell me the 7600GT is SM3.0 capable and the X800PRO is not, I already know that.

X800 Pro Isn't going to be faster....but for the same cash as the 7600GT.....you can buy the X850XT...which would be faster.

7600GT scores roughly 5700 In 3d05...X800Pro scores around 1000 points less(4600+)....X850XT gets around 5900.

I actually think the 7600gt would take this one. If you could unlock the pro's pipelines i'ld say the pro but as it is right now i actually think the 7600gt would be the better card

-edit- in 3dmark03 the x800pro scores along the lines of 10,000 while the 7600gt can score around 12000. Just looked that up now

Yea, I looked up some reviews too. 7600GT does seem to be faster.

X800PRO VIVO PCI-e is unlockable right? Much of the unlock stories are the AGP cards.

i am getting 7500 3D mark with my X800GTO2 modded to X850XT, my dad's X800Pro is getting 6100.. on a P4 OCed to 4.3ghz

7500? Thats awful high for a PE, id like to see a default 3dmark05 run before i could buy that, not doubting its possible, but seeing as the current single PE card without crossfire 05 record is like 7100pts last time i checked... :wtf:

Infrared also has a X800GTO2 moded to a X850XTPE, he gets 7800 on 3D Mark05, he is running on a P4, 4.9Ghz....

I can get 5900 max w/ my X800XL, but I keep it lowered for heat reasons, my Pentium D 820 is raising the ambient case temp quite a bit.

come on guy i dont want to bust a bubble but i doubt this is you ....look at the core mhz of that cpu (hint) "phase" im sure the rest was on ice also (if it is can i see a pic of your phase machine and can you tell me how it works cause im interested in doing myself). i mean u r getting the same benchmarks of a 7800gtx at stock with a fx55. if you had a 1800xtx maybe.

back to topic: i would go for the 7600gt.

It's the equivalent of an X1300. In other words, NOT VERY WELL. :banghead:

EDIT: So far, using the rig at the left, it can do Doom3, Quake4, and Half-Life 2 on1280x1024, low quality (in HL2, medium detail, medium everything, pixel shader on low, etc.)
Halo is fine though, 1280x1024 maxed out.

i dont doubt this..i had a p4 3.0 on air that went to 4.1 ghz and my idle temps went up by 3 degrees. i just doubt the insane o/c's in the future mark
