Considering the fact that GTXs are all clocking well even with stock coolers, i suggest going for a standard version.

Regarding the company, i vote for eVGA or BFG :)

I wouldn't go with XFX myself, their CS just tried to stiff me on 2 year warranty.

haha but some people don't like the idea of overclocking, and i'm one of them, i believe my first 8800GT died from overclocking :(, and it wasn't a great clock really but oh well haha. good choice OP

Well there's a nicely priced GTX260 MSI there.

XFX Ftw!
Double lifetime warrantee.. Il be 200 before it expires:toast:

I had nothing but trouble with EVGA (just ask tw3akm@ster) They have been the only company to not fix a problem (or even try) that I had on a GPU
(hell those jerks didnt even bother to respond to several emails, bad, Mike Klingelberg, bad)

Asus returned emails but never fixed the prob.(idiots made 9800GT cards with tri sli slots that were just for looks)

MSI so so customer service (good products)

BFG no probs (so far, lol)

Gigabyte, quality control probs (at least they tried to remedy the issue)

ECS (no customer service, BUT freekin AWESOME passive cooled 9600GTs)

I noticed in all that MSI has good products. The egg has an Oc'ed MSI gtc260 /192 /620 core oc factory - for $200 or so - sometimes you get a game with it TC's rainbow 6 two.

Last time I looked it was 199 or 205. Good bundle, nice box, UGLY card sticker.

I am sorry for your card. :(

But i have a feeling that from now on your cards wont die due to overclocking or anything else, so go ahead and buy a new card for yourself this Christmas. And one more thing, Happy holidays and happy gaming :)

I only buy from EVGA now. They look great, they come with lots of goodies, great customer support, and the step-up program is good to have. This applies to video cards and motherboards.

You are absolutely correct sir !.........If I was in the market for a Nvidia card and looking for a good price/performance ratio, that would be my choice. All the companies that have been listed above are very good, so you really couldn't go wrong in selecting any of them. So for myself, it would just come down to what card I feel I can get the most bang for the buck out of regardless which Mfg it is. Warranties & Customer Service may be the things that can vary which can have an effect on one's buying disscion. But aside from warranties and step-up programs that may be offered, many people will often upgrade their GPU's before most warranties expire anyways.

Companies I'd buy Nvidia cards from (In order of my preference):

1. XFX (The GTX 280 I had from this company was downright awesome. I regret selling it as a part of my old PC)
2. EVGA
3. BFG
4. Asus
5. Zotac

i do not agree with that, you see many cheap cards that end up having problems... the best cards are the ones with the best PCB construction and cooling system, if you make some searches about 9800GTX+ and HD4850 you will see plenty of them without anything covering the Rams... that ends up in burned rams after a while just like my Gainward golden sample...

A while ago i have purchased a Gigabyte HD3850 256Mb card with a Zalman cooler on GPU, but on the rams have nothing to cover them, so after a while (like a month or so) my card just broke...
So ppls do NOT buy the cheapest card around because you may have problems with them...
