Alot of offtopic nonsense in this thread.... so to the point

Your CPU RAM Videocard are excellent, dont worry about it.

i would first focus on your stability issues , a fresh windows install with newest drivers and minimum install of other software to be sure its not an OS issue.
Check your mem timings , temps etc.

From reading your specs i see your psu isnt the best, it might be what causes stability issues, especially cause those 4850 suck alot of power.

If you dont have the spare PSUs or other equipment to exchange for your own equipment to test those things, buying a new psu even though it might not fix the stability issue still would not be a bad choice, i would go for a corsair TX650, dont let anyone talk you into buying anything bigger. Its more silent than the one you have now , future proof for future upgrades, and it might give you more headroom when OCing your computer ( my brother when getting a TX650 was able to bring his 4850 from 650 to 680 on the GPU ).

Secondly im not a fan of nvidia chipset mainboards, but if it works it works, stability issues could originate from the mainboard too, but thats hard to tell from here, and i doubt it would be worth the money to go for an AM2+ AMD chipset mobo just to gamble it fixing that, but i would do it if you plan to get one of those new phenoms next year or later on.
Not sure what kind of money you would spend on a new mainboard, the best choice would be 790GX+750SB mainboard, gigabyte one goes for i think around 130 US dollar, which is quite a good price for being one of the best , but of course you got quality boards for 80 bucks too.

Lastly to come back on temps , do you use standard cpu cooling?

i hope this helped
